Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

Does anyone happen to have any room view pictures for the Disney Suite in the main building (4411)? The ones at the beginning of the thread aren't showing up for me (little box with a question mark in them). I can find pictures showing monorail to the left, Poly to the right, and the courtyard pool, but I'm wondering if you can see the top of the castle at all? I know the Victorian Suite can see the castle just over the rooftops of the other buildings, but it's on the 5th floor, so maybe the 4th floor is too low to see the castle from this suite due to the outer buildings? Does anyone know?
Were they my pics? If they were I'm sorry I didn't upload them to a hosting site I just used FB and I was recently told those links don't last long.

Sorry you can't see the castle because the Walt Suite is on the 4th floor plus Sugar Loaf is the way. You can definitely see it from the 2nd bedroom in the Grand Suite.

April 2010 -- I do have pics of the room itself but it's probably been updated in the almost 12 years since we stayed

Good morning fellow GF fans.. and a big hello!! :wave2:
Despite my best intentions it's been quite a while..
Hope that everyone enjoyed their holidays and are able to be planning a Disney trip or two for this year!
We are planning a family trip this spring to the GF...my DH and I and all of our children..and grandchildren too..the oldest who is age 2...lol..might a bit hectic..but we are so looking forward to seeing the world with the grandbabies (I'm thinking lots of resort and pool time)! Another GF first for us...no CL as there were no CL rooms available when we booked..and despite checking often..maybe very often..lol..nothing has opened..but since the GF was where we stayed with our kids for all of their first trips..the vote was GF for this trip too....really looking forward to being able to walk to the MK!
Just thought I'd share my excitement here...I will happily share pics and a review when we return!
Until then I'll be reading along ..and looking forward to other's reviews!
Happy Tuesday..and happy planning! :flower:

Hi @BlueSkies :yay::wave2:

Yay for a family trip, sound like lots of fun. Keep checking to see if RPC opens up for your dates.
I need to win a giant lottery to do the disney trip that I want to do aka a girls trip with some/all of the gals.

Thank you! We’re very excited, our only request was a king room. Wish we could have done a theme park view but maybe some day!
Very welcome!! Hope that you get your king room! Although TPV rooms are so nice...GV rooms at the GF have very lovely views..especially..IMO.. from Boca Chica...where the GV rooms look across the courtyard pool area...and towards the main building which is beautiful particularly in the evenings when its all lit up...I really don't think you will be disappointed...
Can I order from grand Floridian cafe ‘to go’ for early morning breakfast?
I honestly don't know the answer to that..but..room service is at the GF...with a nice variety of breakfast dishes ( I do believe it's the only resort currently offering this service)..
Hey there @ahcupcake!! ...so good to "see" you!! What great pictures...thanks for sharing!! I could look at GF pics all day long...lol...

Maybe I have some nice ones I can dig up to share..
Happy Ground Hogs Day friends! :earsgirl:

Can I order from grand Floridian cafe ‘to go’ for early morning breakfast?

We ordered dinner to-go twice from the GF Cafe back in May. Many of the COVID protocols were still in place then, so I'm not sure if they are still permitting it - maybe someone who has been there more recently has tried it? It was very easy though. We just asked at the check-in podium if we could place a to-go order and they took our order right there. Then they texted when it was ready to be picked up (it was the "your table is ready" text). There is certainly no harm in asking; if they say they can't accommodate a to-go order there's always room service or Gasparilla's.

thanks! Yes, we are staying there in part because of the room service. Just easier!

We ordered room service our last night. The weather was cold & rainy so we decided to stay in. We ordered wine, entrees, & desserts. And watched the movie Casino. It was actually a pretty good way to wind down. lol
Wind down? Is that a reference to the vice scene, lol

Phase 2 Grand Floridian Units Declared Into Condo Association

Half of the new Resort Studios have been added to the condominium assocation for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, paving the way for point sales to soon begin.
In a series of filings with the Orange County Comptroller's office, Disney Vacation Clubhas amended the Ground Lease, Declaration of Condoninium and Membership Agreement to begin adding the "phase 2" units to its Grand Floridian timeshare development. A total of 101 Resort Studios were added to the program, representing half of the 202 rooms which make up the project. The rooms formally added include most of the 3rd floor, plus all of the 4th and 5th floors of the Big Pine Key building.

Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing! I assumed the view of the castle would be blocked by Sugar Loaf, but I was hoping I was wrong. The Disney Suite was the only one I could get for my dates...the rest were all booked! I'll keep stalking for cancellations lol! If I keep my reservation for the Disney suite, I'll be sure to post pictures of the interior, although there are some recent photos/videos on youtube. There just wasn't really much showing views from the balcony.

You're Welcome.

I'd keep it.
If you have anyone traveling with you that likes to take nice long baths to soak/relax this suite a the perfect tub for that. I'd post a pic but I'm sitting in it fully clothed holding a glass of champagne I brought from the lounge.

I will enjoy looking through this thread. While I am a DVC member I have totally been wanting to stay at the Grand Floridian and usually there is no availability when I want to go or I don't have enough points. Today I scored a Studio for September for 7 days. So super excited, I can't wait. My daughter, BF and my grandson will be staying in a studio at Poly.

I happen to love bubble baths so that would be me in that tub:D! Lol on the photo of you in the tub with clothes on and a glass of champagne. Sounds like you had fun!

Once again missing you by a day. One day hopefully we'll overlap.

Can't wait to see the babies at the Grand and WDW.

Umm lol

My stay in the Walt Suite was in 2011 and I haven't been in 10 years.
I was just showing @Dispro1 the views from the suite and yes I did have a good time on that trip
