Any of you more experienced DVCers have any thoughts on my chances for 2 studios the week of Feb 19-24 which I believe is the week of the US holiday President's Day? I will have to try at 7 months as this is not my home resort.

Sure! Be sure to call member services at the first possible booking date! I usually do this when planning a Vero Beach vacation and always get the accommodations and dates I'm looking for! Good luck with your booking!
