Disney's Doorway to Dreams opening in New York

OK Long Island is big could someone give me a town. How far from say Suffolk County? Thanks, have relatives and thinking I would love to go visit one day.

It will be in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY. Depending on how far east into Suffolk County your relatives are, it shouldn't be too far.

It's located 20 min away from the Nassau/Suffolk County border but depending where in Suffolk, it could be an hour and a half away from your relatives. On the other hand if you're coming from anywhere in the country (except for the ferry from Connecticut) you have to pass through Nassau to get to Suffolk!

And I live 1.4 miles away, 4 minutes drive if the traffic lights cooperate! I drive by it on my way to work and today set my odometer and I timed it--6 minutes but that included 90 seconds sitting at 2 traffic lights. Woohooo!

Where in Suffolk? Suffolk is HUGE..if they are in Riverhead or past there, it could be an hour and a half.

Yes, I definitely plan on visiting. I am sure they will have some grand opening/special event going on when it first opens. I plan on being there and hopefully my friend Wendy (also a dvc member) will also come along.

I live in the Holbrook/Holtsville area and Roosevelt Mall is about a 40 minute ride but I will be making at least one trip to check it out! Wish they open one in Smithhaven Mall!

I was actually at Roosevelt Field Mall in westbury,NY (Long Island) and I passed the new location for the Doorway to Dreams. There was the typical "pardon our dust" signs up. I cant wait for it to open

Its actually in Nassau County, not Suffolk.

I have no idea about that yet. I also heard that I might not be able to post anymore. I should find out in the next week or two.

Who else has said they might not be able to post? Has another DISer been offered the job at DtD? It would be REALLY cool to talk to that person before we start training!

Congrats Kim! We must live not too far from each other because we're 5-7 minutes from Roosevelt Field.
I was going to ask you to keep us posted on when the opening will be and on what kind of special opening events they might have until I saw that you may not be able to post any more

Congrats! Kim, best of luck with the training and the job. May I ask when you interviewed, was it over the phone and how long after did it take for you to be notified you were hired? I know someone who has applied, but hasn't had the phone interview yet??

I am pretty sure they are finished hiring the Guides for DD2D at Roosevelt Field Mall. I started the interview process MONTHS ago. HOWEVER, they are hiring Independent DVC Reps who are Real Estate Agents...some of those people have not been interviewed yet. Those reps WILL NOT be working at the DD2D Sales Center at the Mall.
