I'll be at Coronado by lunch-time tomorrow!:banana::banana::banana:

I have most of the packing done, kids are really excited and do not want to go to school today! :hyper:

Hoping to be on the road around 5:00, stopping overnight in Gainesville and will have breakfast with my niece (who goes to school there). Hope to be checking in by noon! Hoping for some pixiedust: on our room location!

I will try to check the thread if anyone has any questions!

Boring but necessary query....

Never done laundry onsite before-
Are the machines simple enough to use?
(I'm a total technological no no:rotfl2:)
Are there plenty of washers/dryers?
Cost?
Detergent?

Thanks for any info.:)

This is the laundry room from the Cabanas section. The building is right next to the quiet pool. The room was clean and had a change machine, soap dispenser/vending machine, plus a regular soda/snack vending machine.

Building beside the pool. Very convenient to lay by the pool and do a load or two.

Have fun! Can you let me know if there's ginger ale at the refillable station? Trying to decide if I should bring rum or whiskey. ;)

This time next week we'll be landing at MCO....checking in at CS the next morning! Time to start packing!

Have a great time to those of you going soon! Praying that medical issues will not get in the way of our trip, as two dear in-laws and myself have had tests done this week for different things. I am so excited for this trip!

3 more days for us and we checkin!! Whoooo hooo! Sooo excited! We've never stayed at CSR or had the DDP (and free is even sweeter)! Celebrating my mom's birthday along with the birthdays of my two DD! :-)

I've never experienced a bus wait anywhere close to that. Were there full MK buses going by without stopping or did no buses come? What time of day was that?

We stayed 12 nights in 9B last Dec 12th-24th and used stop 1 at El Centro exclusively with no issues at all. If you're doing rope drop at MK you might try walking over to stop 2 as it's the first pick up. We never had any reason not to use stop 1. It's so close, just steps from 9B.

Hi everyone! You have all be so helpful with all the answers and feedback! Thanks especially to Tinkerbell_325.

I'll be at Disney 22-27Dec...my first trip ever (it's only been a 30-year wait!!) and we are booked at CSR. I've been concerned about bus transportation to the parks and the recent hiccup mentioned above did not help. Because we are visiting at the highest crowd levels of the year, I wanted to get to the parks at Rope Drop if possible.... if possible....

1. Barring abnormal hiccups like the above situation, what time should my family and I get to the CSR bus stops in the morning to make it to the parks by 8:30 am? I've read that the buses take between 7 and 10 minutes to get to the various parks UPON leaving the resort....but can anybody tell me how long that bus ride may be around the resort? Like if I get assigned Casitas (Bus stop 2) how long till I get to leave the front gate of of CSR? Or if I get the Ranchos (Bus stop 3) or if I get the Cabanas (Bus stop 4)?

2. How long would it take to have breakfast at Pepper Market before getting on a bus for the park (hopefully getting there for Rope drop or soon after Rope drop thanks to Fastpass+ (between 9:30 and 10:30 am - feeling so important staying onsite. LOL!!)

3. Some mornings, we are breakfasting in our room but one of us adults will have to troop over to Pepper Market/El Centro to get our hot chocolates in our refillable mugs....errr... how long a walk is that? I've read 7 minutes to the furthest rooms, I've read 15 minutes furthest rooms.... I'm thinking of a walk, not jog...can anybody clarify?

4. You are all so very fortunate to have multiple visits to Disney and so nice to share your experiences. Thank you!!!:worship:

33 more days to go. 31 until we tell the kids! Woot Woot!!

So excited. Got our Mickey Mail yesterday which didn't have too much we needed (not flying.) But, was excited to see written confirmation of my selections (including Memory Maker which refused to show up in MDE.)

Now, just waiting on FP for BOG, Magic Bands to get here, and the days to go by!

I haven't stayed at CSR yet, but when I stay at the nearby All-Stars, I allow:
1 hour to get to AK, DHS and Epcot
1 1/2 hours to get to MK

We are often early, but I prefer early to late. If we are early, then we apply sunblock, eat our breakfast (we're not early morning food people), go over our plan for the day etc...

I love this thread.:cool1:

Thanks ever so much for all those who answered my laundry query and the vast array of info available on here is wonderful.:wave2:

Okay first I will tell you to take a deep breath and not get too much anxiety. My #1 bit of advice for a first timer is do not expect or try to do everything, not only is it impossible even during the slow season but you will stress yourself out and be disappointed. There WILL be hiccups in your plans to, guaranteed, but the trick is to go with the waves.

1. If you want to get to rope drop at MK I would leave as early as possible, maybe someone can say when the buses start running I'm not sure. In my near 20 trip I have never done rope drop until last week when I went to DHS for EMH. I arrived about 20 mins before opening and there was a significant "line" (more like a crowd) of people wait at the turnstiles ahead of me. Once the park opened it took about 10 minutes for me to enter the park. With this in mind I can only imagine how MK will be at rope drop during the peak season. They say to give yourself at least an hour and a half to get anywhere on Disney transportation. Now if you want to get to MK and beat the crowds I would say you should get to the bus stop by 7am or sooner. If it's a busy morning then you may have to wait for a bus that's not full, but if you go to bus stop 2 you will be the first stop but then remember the bus will stop at the other 3 stops before leaving. MK takes longer to get to than the other parks, I would say 15-20 depending on traffic.

2. I went to PM one miring for breakfast all by myself at about 8am, it took me about 20 mins to get my food, waiting in line, waiting to be served, then waiting to cash out. That was just me, now consider how many people in you
r party then time to eat.

3. I would say a 10 to 15 min walk from Ranchos.

4. :)

I am so thankful for this thread. We are headed on our first whole family trip to Disney. We are staying Dec 21-27th and I have been terrified about it being peak season. Our Countdown has begun! Thanks to everyone with all the helpful tips and such!

We're just under a week away from check-in!!

This thread has been wonderfully informative, thank you to all. Not quite sure what I/we would have done without it.

We're here!

I had estimated our arrival at 11:00 and we pulled in at 11:10. Both the regular check in line and the online check in line were quite long. My family browsed in Panchito's while I waited. It seemed like almost everyone ahead of me had some sort of issue. They all took forever. I did figure out the line was abnormally long because one party of at least 8 guests was all waiting together and another group of 4. When I got to the front a CM with an iPad came out and checked me in and it just took a couple of minutes. Our room was not ready but she told me we were in Casitas 5.

We went on to Studios for the afternoon and I called about 5:00 to get our room assignment. Somehow despite twice giving my cell number and confirming the text, I didn't get it. We stayed at the Studios till about 6:45 then went to catch the bus. I think we got caught in traffic for the Wine & Dine Half; it took us 20 minutes to get back to the resort when it usually takes 5-7. Anyway, we got to our room and it's in a nice location on Casitas 5, on the first floor (request met) near the elevator and looking out at a fountain and the lake beyond. It's our first time in Casitas. Love being first on and off the bus but it is a pretty good walk to El Centro.

I'll try to check in again in a day or two!

Here now, getting ready to check out! Figured I'd post my round up while the guy is showering. So here goes!

We arrived 11/1 and used magical express, yellow tags and all. It took 14 hours to get our luggage from when we touched down in Orlando. Not only did they not have track of our luggage we had to physically go through the luggage bins to find ours at 1am!

Rooms- cleaner than what I expected based on some other website reviews. I will say that the bathrooms do need refurbishing, but we all know that. We had casitas 2 fourth floor, nice enough location but next time I'll ask for ground floor and cabanas.

It was pretty quiet all around the resort until about 11/7 when people were coming in for the marathon, as there were also about 4 conventions going on while we were here. Usually didn't even notice the conventioneers!

Bus service was wonderful, only problem was on our first park day which was a Sunday, we waited almost 40 mins for a MK bus. Other than that we had limited to no waits at all for buses. Coming back to the hotel was fine from Epcot, AK and DHS but magic kingdom it was always standing room only. We usually just waited until the bus filled up and left and then hopped in line to be first and guarantee a seat. I'd rather wait a little longer for a seat than stand and bump into random strangers the whole ride haha

We used the "resort pickup" almost everyday! What a wonderful feature to disney hotels! We bought a lot of gifts for family and friends and the last thing you want to do is lug it around the park. When checking out at the register just ask to have it sent back to your hotel. It goes to panchitos gift shop and it's really easy!

We were on the free dining while we were here and in the beginning we planned on using it as 1 snack, 1 QS and 1 TS a day per person. After day two, we couldn't do it anymore haha it was already way too much food.

Magical express airport check in is cool, we woke up to our boarding passes hanging on our door knob! Easy enough!

We were very tempted to book a bounce back deal, but instead were looking into DVC. I also have a disney visa so I wasn't too worried about not getting a deal next time we book!

Once the bathrooms get refurbed, I'd come back!

14 Hours?!? Egads!!

Is this experience typical at all? I was planning to use DME, not so sure now...

No, that is not at all typical. Usually you have your luggage within 3-4 hours of checking in at the resort.
