Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

So I’ve been dieting for a few months and lost a decent amount of weight before our recent trip. (Yay!) I finally just had the nerve to weigh myself for the first time since returning home. Despite all the walking and sweating in the July humidity, I gained 8 pounds. I have one of those “smart” scales and a message popped up on the app asking if I was the same person. Unlimited carbs and alcohol. #clublevelproblems
Oh goodness!
Hopefully you can change your scale from "smart alec" mode to a "just give me the info" setting. :D

View attachment 335825 We got our room.

“Great room” was an understatement.

We couldn’t find the room at first — we passed right by it because it has its own private little hallway leading up to the door.

We can see the entire MK resort area from our room. The castle, both GF pools, the Contemporary, the Poly, the monorail, Spaceship Earth in the distance. Will share pictures later! They’re on my husband’s phone.

Thank you for the pics! I just booked a deluxe king for a quick 2 night trip for our anniversary next month. DAH, F&W, and now this room. Can't wait!!!

I suggest sending DSS an email (or call them) to request room 4421, 4321 or 4021, if available. They can't guarantee anything but that's what I did, and I ended up with this one. The other two room #s are the same room/view, just different floors. I believe there are also three other deluxe king rooms that are the same layout but with a different view, as well as deluxe king rooms facing the marina/MK that are not as big (though they do have a balcony, and this one doesn't).

Have fun!

Thanks! We were on the 5th floor last july and had a TPV room- lovely view but it was a hike to the lounge.

Was anyone able to get the Magical Holiday discount applied to a club level reservation? They didn't have any for GF for beginning of Thanksgiving week, going to keep looking as we get closer.

I booked the day the promo was released 6/26 and there was quite a few CL offers for my dates 10/28-11/1. I snagged CL at AKL.
Poly and WL never showed any CL availability for my dates but BC YC BWI CR and GF all had availability on release day.

Not yet... I've also been looking for GF for Thanksgiving week and have checked several different date variations with no luck. For now, I booked a regular room lagoon view. However, I really want RPC so I'm not giving up. I can't believe Wed-Fri aren't blacked out, like normal!!

Better late than never!
I haven't been on here since my trip Nov/Dec 2017 (GF Sugarloaf/RPC split stay, I even missed a Disboarder meet-up as I severely underestimated how exhausted and busy I would be on the trip!), but I'm planning our next WDW vacation and am back in action! For our early 2019 trip, we switched from a WL Deluxe CL Room (some of you may remember my agonizing over this decision) to a 2 BR Villa at OKW, due to two extra guests! But I'm also planning an early 2020 stay, and we are debating between RPC, WL Deluxe CL, perhaps a split between the two, or even other MK-area CL resorts! I am certainly open to suggestions!
Holiday 2017 Trip: Crowds were much higher than we anticipated, but we stuck to my touring plans and had an absolutely magical trip.
For a VERY abbreviated CL trip report... I had a pretty good idea of what to expect at our accommodations from the awesome posters on this board, so based on that, I felt that Sugarloaf was wonderful! The rooms at both Sugarloaf and RPC could use some slight repairs/ soft refurb, but again, I was aware of this going in, and so my expectations were in line with reality.
There was some confusion at check-in at Sugarloaf (maybe staff training?), but our room was ready, and we received a room that met every room request! I agree with others that the lounge can get noisy, but our room was far enough away from the lounge that we didn't have too many issues with that. The food and beverage offerings were generally tasty, plentiful, and universally appealing (good for picky little ones!), and when asked, Sugarloaf staff members were generally polite and helpful. We especially enjoyed the hot breakfast offerings. While many of the food items were of the mass-produced/ 'banquet'-level of quality, we were still pleased at the overall taste and amazing convenience of CL. It was a great fit for our family's vacation and eating styles, and now I don't know how we will stay non-CL!
RPC was, of course, twice as amazing as Sugarloaf. We had a TPV room also, which was a treat. We had issues at check-in with the split stay. Some magic bands worked, others didn't, and our dining credits were a mess that took one-two hours at the concierge to sort out, so that was a disappointment. However, the concierge service was nearly impeccable at RPC, which is interesting, given that I recognized some concierge CMs from Sugarloaf over at RPC! We found the RPC lounge to be quieter and more relaxing, and while the food offerings are indeed the same at RPC as at Sugarloaf, the minor differences in service, plating, and presentation make a difference. The bartender at the evening dessert and drink service even surprised our children by creating and bringing over an adorable non-alcoholic chocolate drink for them. Sitting in the RPC lounge and listening to the GF Orchestra playing Christmas music was a dream. After staying RPC, I can't imagine anything better! The fantastic views from the room and lounge, coupled with multiple private floors for CL access, made for a far more enjoyable experience than SL. I was shocked at ill-mannered fellow guests' behavior in the lounge- screaming, barefoot children, and someone with (what I believe may have been!) whooping cough, among other things. However, we had such an amazing time that none of that came close to touching us up on cloud nine! Truly a fantastic experience that I look forward to repeating, although perhaps not during the holidays!
I snapped some photos of some of the SL evening offerings (sadly didn't think to do so in RPC), included below.

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you had a great time. I feel the same way about RPC vs SL. I'm glad I tried SL, but RPC was just amazing all around. Have fun planning both your 2019 & 2020 trips :wizard:.

Quick observation about a booking experience this trip.

We were at Poly CL Saturday-Friday. Thursday night we decided we weren’t ready to go home yet and wanted one more night, but wanted a new resort just for a change of scene - sort of a “wind down” day if you will.

Wanted BC or YC mainly for the pool and for Epcot walkability, and we’ve never really spent much time at either so a good chance to try something new without the commitment of a longer trip.

No CL rooms were available at either BC or YC online, so booked a non-CL BC Water View room with an AP discount. Online no AP discounts were showing up at YC.

The next morning I called just to see if there was any CL availability at either resort - there wasn’t. But the CM could book non-CL YC Water View at an AP discount (which was $80 better than the BC AP rate) so we changed the reservation to YC.

We checked out of Poly and drove over to YC. I figured it was useless, but at check-in I asked if there was any way they could check to see if I could upgrade to CL. A quick call to the room assignor...and success! There was a Water View CL room available at an AP discount, and it was ready (this was 10:30am,ish).

They quickly made the change, I paid the difference, then they escorted us upstairs. Very easy and very surprised a CL room was available after earlier strike outs online and via phone.

I guess the moral of the story - when it comes to last minute / day of travel and room types/categories, don’t be afraid to keep asking!

We have done this on several occasions, and have always been lucky to score a room the day of, even if there are no rooms available by phone or online.

Going to get on @focusondisney's bad side for giving some praise to YC CL, but wanted to share a bit about our experience while thoughts are fresh. Apologies in advance, going to photo bomb the thread here.

We (family of four, kids 8 and 3) were at Poly CL last week, then moved over to YC CL for one night. We had never been to YC CL before, so it was an entirely new experience.

Maybe we just really enjoyed the change of scene after several days at Poly, but we left saying we will absolutely be back. Everything about the setup, the location, the rooms, the lounge style, etc definitely worked for our style. Obviously one day isn't enough to see a whole "body of work" for any given CL, but we were definitely impressed.

Given comments around the DIS sometimes I have always wondered if YC as a resort and YC CL would be a good fit with young ones - but those concerns quickly dissipated.

CMs seemed very professional and personable, but not over the top in your face - it was a great balance.

So the CL floor is the fifth floor (the top floor) - see below. The lounge and CL Desk area in the image is not exactly drawn quite to scale, but you get a general sense of the layout. Our room was 5223 which is a Water View room (in red). Walking time to the lounge was about 1 minute, 10 seconds and was 115 steps. No complaints there.

I don't know what I think about hard surface floors in hotel rooms and I'm still not sure.... but coming from Poly this feels nice, crisp, and clean. The room sizes are obviously smaller here than the monorail resorts, but they use space efficiently, in my opinion.

I didn't get a pic of the shower - but it's a shower, no tub. Dual shower heads, one is the "rain" style. Felt a lot more elegant than a typical Disney resort bathroom. Not a great room if you actually need a tub, like for kids baths - but fortunately we're mostly past that stage.

These maybe look worse in the pics than they do in person since I'm down low with the camera, but the floors in this particular room were showing a bit of noticeable wear already. That's probably not the best sign for a room that's not that old.

I'm still not a fan of the hardwood floors. In some ways they seem dirtier to me (maybe not germ-wise, but look/feel-wise). I said to my sisters..."wonder how long these floors will last without being torn up by scratches...."

View left. You do have some rather ugly roof in your view from these rooms.

Looking down. I did notice a bit of "exhaust fan" noise when on the balcony, but nothing really complaint worthy - just not quite perfect with an otherwise pretty darn good view.

But your eye doesn't really focus on the roof with this in most of the view area....

I think YC should put some beautiful palm plants on the roof, in gorgeous containers, to knock out some of the roof view. :)

They aren't real hardwood floors although it took a bubble by the bathroom door in our room (number 5199) for me to be 100% sure. They are linoleum or vinyl flooring strips probably made by a company named Amtico. As long as they bought extra and stored them in a locale where the sun can fade them same as the installed flooring a strip can be added or subtracted with more ease than true hardwood flooring. Before I sold my pre-war apartment we replaced the existing 1920's hardwood flooring and boy oh boy was that a financial workout. Cost 45K to upgrade all rooms excepting the bathrooms and kitchen which boiled down to about 1500 sq ft. We opted to add border strips in different darker coloured wood and did parquet in the public rooms but that was in keeping with the apartment's age and decor. Not cheap but obviously long lasting.
As I sat on the terrace I dreamt of covering the roofs in moss with slate tiles and pebbles.....oops:D.

I’m also with you on the “hardwood” floors (faux or otherwise), more than anything else they just seem very... hard. After a long day of walking in the parks, the old carpeting is easier on the feet. Even with the slippers I always bring, the hardwood is just not as forgiving!

They are harder but guess it's an acquired taste. The last apartment my mother bought into (also a HOA type building) is post war, has cement sub floors and were frequently covered with carpeting that my mother had never lived with before. When she moved from one apt to another in the building that she proclaimed would be her last move ( it was what with her being 83 y/o at the time) she decided to cover the floors with carpeting since it was less expensive despite my older sister and I offering to have hardwood floors put in at our expense. I'm now living in her apartment as she lives in older sister's house and despising the upkeep of the carpeting. Can't wait to pull it up. It's cushy alright but gosh is it high maintenance what with the parrot who is trying out for the Olympic's seed tossing gold medal;).

Right, I'm using the word "hardwood" as a catchall. I did assume they were the manufactured type.

I guess a throw rug would be nice; sort of a combo of wood and carpet.

Thanks for your review and pics!!! We typically travel February, September and right after Thanksgiving, this year 11-25-12-3 haven’t been since September 17 which was a 9 day Poly trip, last time we were down during the Christmas season was 2016 WL, I still felt crowd levels were great. I keep hearing a lot of people saying crowds were far more than usual or what they expected. I know it’s OT but I love going that time of year, really helps that it’s a perfect time of year with my business to travel at this time also.

Just checked in Poly CL( previous 4 nights at BWI standard). Got our one request for 3rd floor. Almost at the end of the hall. If anyone recalls I have been obsessed with the slippers. They were not in the room with the robes but I asked housekeeping and they brought us a few pair. Nice! We are just resting right now but I will try and take some pics. Any questions, let me know!
