You can get great deals on Disney merchandise at this outlet store a little over 3 miles from Disneyland. For basic Disney souvenirs, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts and mugs, you can't beat the prices. Disney's Character Warehouse is located at 243 Orangefair Mall. You can call (714) 870-9363 to check hours, etc.

To get to Disney's Character Warehouse from Disneyland, go north on Harbor Blvd and cross Hwy 91. Make a right at Orangethorpe and another right at Pomona, which is a street that goes right into the Orangefair Marketplace shopping center. A Michael's store is right in front of you; drive toward it and then go left to get to the Character Warehouse, which is at the corner of the building.

* The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce web site has a printable 10% off coupon for the Character Warehouse!
* You can also get a printable 10% off coupon for the Character Warehouse from the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau web site. Thanks to Jon F for info.

I was thinking if our drive went smoothly and we had some time to kill before check in I might check it out for they autograph books before we make it to PPH and the birthday celebration.

Is it worth it?

Yes! You just never know. Sometimes its a hit and sometimes a miss. However, I just received a message from them. It said that new merchandise had arrived. I would take the chance. You have nothing to loose. :tink:

We've gone on a couple of our trips. We usually find something that we pick up!! They have collectibles, jewelry, clothing, purses, pins, sometimes costumes & seasonal, etc.

Our trip in 05 we found a ton of stuff, in 08, 09 & 10 we only found a couple items.....but still worth going to check out.......great prices!!

Really easy to find as well. Just take Harbor up to the Orangefair Mall, take a right into their parking lot & it's towards the backside.

I'm assuming you could, but I don't have experience with the city bus system. Since it's a straight shot up a main street, I would think this would be an option.

We were there in Nov. and there wasn't much there. I found that it is the left over "stuff" that Disney can't sell because it isn't merchandise people want. The store is old and has a musty smell, reminds me of a thrift store or second hand store. I wouldn't waste my time going back thats for sure.

That is what an outlet store sells. People have been fooled into thinking outlets only sell this stuff, so most companies have outlet stores outside major cities that seel regular priced regular items.

In the case of the Disney Warehouse it is a true outlet store. If you pay attention to when seasons in the parks change, you can tell when the store will get new stuff.

Another bonus when you visit the DCW...In-N-Out Burger is right across the street. Mmmmm.

We live just 10 minutes from the DCW, and we like stopping in every now and then to see what's there. Sometimes we strike out, but sometimes we find some real gems.

Here's a link to the OCTA bus route that might help out those who don't have a car. I've never taken the bus, so research this option carefully to see if it would work for you.

The Disney Outlet Store, I believe is privately owned. And as skiingfast stated it is a true outlet store. However I have found some real collectibles there, at incredible prices. I have also found merchandise at the outlet that was currently for sale at Disneyland as well. So, you truly never know.:tink:

For me, it's definitely hit or miss. I've probably been there half a dozen times and walk out with nothing about half of those times. The other times I've picked up toys (e.g. a Pooh stencil drawing set, some Wall E figurines) or clothes (pirate mouse ears, a tink shirt, some cute disney branded stuff but otherwise no disney logos). I think I've almost always seen autograph books there. Generally the prices are at least 30% off or more. I'm a real cheapskate, so I'm sure anything I bought had to be at least 50% off. I haven't been there in awhile, but it did seem that if you were into high school musical stuff, the DCWO would be your kind of place!

This is a bit off topic, but there's a Disney outlet near me in the Camarillo Outlets that perhaps is a different owner. It seems to be much better organized and looks more like a regular disney store. May be an option for anyone coming down the 101.

After having been to the one in Orlando and Las Vegas, I was really excited to go to the one in Anaheim and was extremely let down. As mentioned above it has a musty smell to it and what little they had wasn't a good deal.

we took the bus, we caught it in front of the Tropicana. I think we paid $3.00 for an all day bus pass. It was very easy just ask at your Hotel.

We were there on march 19th and there was alot of items in just a few sizes, and the t shirts were stilkl 20.00 and up, no real bargans as far as I could see except older issues of the popcorn buckets !!!! We were disapointed but I did have a 10% off couponI printed from the anaheim orange county visitors & convention bureau web site

Don't forget your coupon!

I have been to the one in Pomona, Fullerton, and Las Vegas. My favorite is still Pomona, but since you won't have a car then stick to Fullerton. I think I like Pomona because it's not out of our way, we drive past it on our trip in. But like mentioned above it is very hit or miss, so don't hold high expectations. Consider it more of a bonus if you find something. Good luck!

I had to google were pomona was!
we're in a car but it seem's a little out of the way? we're coming down I-5 straight from Sacto.

Yes it's off the 60, we come from Phoenix, and I know there are 2 ways to go, we always come the 10-60-57 exit Harbor. It would be about 30 mins NE of Disneyland.
