coming back to Disney in July 2013 stayed at POP 2008 and at POR in 2010 and 2011 will be coming back and going to Disney's Caribean Beach or Disney Coronado Springs July 27 for 14 night's any help with picking the best one to stay at let me no

would go with CSR - that say if you love to walk then CBR. but only if you love to walk.

They both have fans, so you will get mixed responses. We have stayed several times at CSR, but never at CBR.

A few of the differences:

CBR has double beds, while CSR has queen beds (don't know if CBR will get bigger beds by next year or not).
CBR has larger rooms with two sinks (340 square feet vs. 314 square feet). CSR has only one sink, but lots of counter space. CSR's rooms are larger than Pop's and the same size as POR's.

CBR has a great pool for little ones - zero entry, a kiddie slide, and a pirate ship splash area for kids under 48 inches tall.
CSR has a great pool for elementary and older kids and adults - the pool is large with plenty of room to move around, and the slide is long, open and fast.
CSR has the largest hot tub of any moderate.

CSR has a playground and sand volleyball court next to the pool. CBR also has a playground, but I don't know where it is.

CSR has a fitness center, salon, spa and night club.

CBR has a traditional food court. CSR has the Pepper Market, which is a quick service buffet for breakfast and lunch and a la carte for dinner. It is a great value on the dining plan, but more expensive than traditional food courts if paying out of pocket. CSR also has Cafe Rix (small, but open all three meals), Siesta's at the pool (lunch and dinner) and Laguna Bar (lunch and dinner) as quick service meal options.

CSR has sliding wooden doors separating the room from the vanity area. They are great for privacy and for reducing noise and light in the room when someone is getting ready in the bathroom. CBR has a privacy curtain.

Neither resort shares buses with another resort. CBR has seven stops. CSR has four stops. We have always had great bus service at CSR.

CSR is a convention resort, which means that you may see some people in business casual attire and wearing nametags. You may also find that the buses and the pool are much less crowded than you would expect because some of the guests spend their days in the convention center. I've only seen reports of one convention having a negative impact on guests, and it is always held in late February/early March.

So it depends a lot on your group. :) If you have all adults or kids who are either adventurous swimmers or at least 5 or 6 years old, CSR might be the better fit. If you have toddlers or preschoolers, you might enjoy the extra floor space in the room for strollers (CBR has bigger rooms and smaller beds) and the zero entry pool.

I would choose CBR. I'm not a fan of CSR and had a bad experience staying there. I love the tropical feel of CBR. Have a great time!

StitchandPooh'sMom- That was a wonderful comparison you posted which I'm sure will help others make the choice between the two.

As for me, I would go with CSR mainly due to the queen beds and fitness center.

I've stayed at a few different properties from values and deluxe and CSR has the most comfortable beds of anywhere I've stayed. We were just there at the end of 2011

We stayed at CBR in 09. It's a very nice resort, beautiful, but stretched out! If you choose CBR and don't want to pay prefered, stay in Jamaica. That's where we stayed. It was a lovely walk that wasn't too bad across the island to get to Port Royale.

All that said, I have been wanting to stay at CSR for YEARS!

This pretty much covers everything. We have stayed at CSR twice and CBR once.

CSR has a fitness center, salon, spa and night club.

The first thing I would ask is does anything in this statement appeal to you? If it does than your decision is made. I used the Fitness Center 6 times on our 14 night stay last December. The night club is cool to get a drink at and also there are outside lounges in 2 location at CSR as well. Where as CBR just has the one small pool side lounge.

One thing I did love about CBR though and we miss not staying there is watching the Epcot Fireworks on the beach in front of Martinique 25 every night! You can see some of the really high ones at CSR, but that beach at CBR is almost like being right at Epcot.

My family like the food court at CBR better. I'm fine with either one. Bus service was great at both resorts for us. The other thing I like about CBR is that a preferred room gets you a room close to the food court and main pool, where as CSR its only close to the food court.

I'm happy at either resort. We chose CSR the last two times because of the extra value for the dollar of those few extra amenities.

I would choose CSR. -we've never stayed at CSR but we weren't impressed with CBR.

CBR is beautiful and the pool really is awesome, if you have little ones CBR should get more consideration. We didn't have the a great experience there, I guess it's showing it's age you could say?

We love POR/FQ and from what I've read would be happy to give CSR a try but CBR was not a favorite. If I had to choose CBR or a value I would go value and save the money.

I've stayed at both more than once (CSR ten times and CBR twice). As you can tell I MUCH prefer CSR. I've also stayed at the other two Moderates more than once and would rank them:

#1. CSR
#2. POFQ (but a very close tie with CSR)
#3 PORS
#4. CBR (and that's a very distant 4th)

CSR has the most comfortable beds and the best bus service. Their pool slide is longer, main pool not as crowded, and they have the biggest hot tub on property. Their food court is much, much better.

CBR seems alot bigger, has only regular size beds, and both bus service and house keeping stunk both times I was there. Oh, yeah, their buidings also don't have elevators (of course they are only two story buildings though, but still a pain if you are tired or have a stroller to lug up stairs). I go to WDW several times a year and usually stay in a moderate, so have stayed at all four within the last two years.

Hello,

Lots of great info. We stayed at CBR for our 09 trip! we loved it!!! We stayed in Aruba and it was a short walk across the bridge. The foodcourt was great something for everyone. The pool is fun and the quiet pool was just that. We had it to ourselves most days! Mousekeeping was great. CMS were great too. I agree its a large resort and lots of walking! The feel of the tropics is amazing. I enjoyed that! the beach is nice too. My DH found CBR very quiet he still talks about that!!! :rotfl:

We stayed at CSR for our 2011 trip! It was very nice too. The queen beds were great. The room was in the perfered location and it was great! The Pepper Market is a great place to eat as well! It feels like a TS for the price of a QS. We did visit the quiet pool one night and it was empty.

I guess I am going against the grain, I like the CBR more! we are returning to the CBR in Oct!!!! We are paying for a prefered location this trip. Both resorts are wonderful so you can not go wrong! Enjoy!:wizard:
