A few questions if I can someone said you can walk too Epcot from th resort via a pathway is this correct ???

Also is it quicker too get the bus too Epcot then the monorail too MK ??

Anyone know the answer too these questions ??

Can't walk to Epcot from CBR.
Take the bus to MK. If you stop at Epcot, you have to walk to the monorail station. Quicker just to ride the bus.
 
We leave soon for our first visit to CBR. I've read several bad review recently, and with the news of the bridge out and the splash pad closed, I'm starting to doubt our choice. HELP! Someone tell me why they LIKE the CBR.
 

Can anyone confirm the current fax number for CBR please. Have found 2 different numbers on the web. Thanks!

We will be back for our third visit to CBR at the end of October! We love this resort and like it being spread out, it never feels very crowded. We have stayed in Barbados and Trinidad South. Trinidad South was too long of a walk to go to Old Port Royale everyday but Barbados was a nice walk . My kids liked looking for salamanders (I think thats what they are) along the paths, they are everywhere!:) We like the relaxed feel of the resort and found it really quiet. The food was also pretty good, the kids loved getting there food in a pail!
 
So, do we have to do online check in? We booked through a travel agent and she made our room requests for us (building and connecting rooms). In the past, our TA just made the requests (building and connecting rooms) and then we physically checked in that day (and did get the requests granted). So with this new online check in - do I need to do that? Or just wait until we get there since our requests were already made? Or do both? I want to physically check in to get my sons birthday button and I need to pick up the rented stroller we are having delivered there. So I wasn't sure.
 
If you want to physically check in, then don't worry about doing online check-in. If you want to be texted your room number when it's available then you can do online check-in and still stop at the front desk to pick up birthday button.

I have heard rumors that if you fill out things online that it overrides what was previously placed on the reservation (note, this is a rumor unless others can confirm). So I will skip the room request info, and do the rest. I would like to be texted our room number if it's available. I'll still stop in at the desk (and several of the online options make you stop at desk anyway) because I have several buttons to pick up and want a map, etc. Plus it's the first time for several in my party so I want them to hopefully get welcomed as first timers during check-in (oh, and we want to pick up our drink mugs at the same time).
 
Does anyone have the front desk phone number and the phone number to guest services?

I would like to update my phone in case I need them while I am on my trip so I am not calling some call center.

If you want to physically check in, then don't worry about doing online check-in. If you want to be texted your room number when it's available then you can do online check-in and still stop at the front desk to pick up birthday button.

Just a quick comment ... you will need to go to OPR to get your mugs, they aren't in the same building where you check in.
 
I'm here at CBR now. I HATE it! It is much more spread out than I thought. cMs are rude. Luggage not delivered to room and it has been over 6 hours since we check in. I was on hold over an hour about luggage. DH finally went down to get 3 large bags himself. I am moving to POFQ tomorrow. I hope everyone else has a better experience.
I am sorry you were not happy with the resort. POFQ is much smaller and it seems like you guys have stayed there several times. I'm guessing it's a better fit your family. We have stayed at WL, POR, CSR and now in two weeks we will have our first stay at CBR. I am looking forward to trying something new. I hope the rest of your trip is great.

Is there a place to change our clothes after we check out? We plan to use the pool on check out day so we can relax before heading home. Just want to make sure i can change the kids somewhere comfortably.
We plan to do the same thing. I'm pretty sure there are locker rooms at the main pool. I plan to bring a larger zip lock baggie to hold our wet suits for the trip home.

I'm sorry your vacation is starting off rocky. Hopefully your stay at POFQ is better and have a great vacation.
I'm curious. Did you already have a split stay booked or did you switch after realizing CBR was not a good fit for you?
 
I thought I once read that at about 20-25 days out Disney starts assigning rooms to new arrivals. I wonder if those that are getting the emails mean they were assigned rooms affected by bridge

No, rooms are assigned 3-4 days out.

What is better for room requests? I would like to request a certain building number within a village, but I realize that requests are just that...requests. If that building is unavailable, would they keep me within that village or should I just request a certain village without getting picky over the building number?

I would call and word your request "village & building #" or "village". The room assigner will then know that if they can't get you the building you want, that you would still like to be in that village.

Yes. There are lockers, changing area and showers at the Main Pool.

No for both questions. You cannot walk from CBR to Epcot. And it is much quicker to just take the bus from CBR to MK instead of bus to Epcot then monorail to MK.

The only resorts I know for sure read faxed room requests are POR and POFQ. The best option is still to call the main reservations line and have any room requests added to your reservation. This can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days out.

There is no number for the front desk. Yes, there are numbers that can be found online for each resort but those numbers ALL route to a central call center. Even when you hit the "Front Desk" button on the phone in your resort room it will route to the Call Center.

For Guest Services, I have always called the main reservations line and asked to be transferred to Guest Services. But I found this number online 407-824-4321

We are 60 days out. At 2 am this morning at work I checked us in online and did our fastpasses. I got all of our fastpasses but one. There were none for Anna and elsa. I am hoping that the lines will not be too long at some point during our trip. That was the best character meet and greet on our last trip in may of 2014. We are so excited!!!!!:mickeyjum

Why am I so upset about this refurbishments???
I was all worked up 2 weeks ago when I learned of the bridge closing but came to terms with it and started feeling better that they are trying their best to accommodate guests by having the extra buses/boat taxis...
But tonight when I learned of the splash pad kid playground closing... Ugh!
I was on the phone for over an hour- 3 people later they finally confirmed that it is indeed closed and will be for 3 weeks... My entire stay.
What other resorts have kid pool type areas besides CBR???

I know it sucks, but this isn't a planned refurbishment. There is an issue that has to be fixed. I know it won't make you feel better, but there's nothing they can do about it.


What other resorts have kid pool type areas besides CBR???

Unfortunately none of the other Moderates or any of the Values have anything like CBR. The only other resorts that I know for sure do are GF, Poly, and WL.

That was the only FP we couldn't get as well.
Went to the park the morning of extra hours and spent maybe 10 minutes in standby line to meet them :-)
