Does anyone have a favorite location to stay in? It's our first time in a standard room in the CBR. Can't wait!

Our favorite location is Jamaica 45. It is a very short stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool. Plus the bright yellow exterior just scream Caribbean to us.

At CBR in 13 days!! First time back since 2010 when we stayed in the pirate room. Excited to be in refurbished room and able to book for party of 5!!

Stayed at POR, We didn't dislike it, just didn't love it. Last trip we stayed at POP (our first ever trip was at a value , ASM, so we thought we knew what to expect). We all pretty much hated it. Dirty room, fridge full of food from previous guest. Crowds at parks were not bad, but pools and food court were always packed during our stay. Husbands luggage lost on way to hotel and folks in the baggage area were pretty rude. Just never quite felt the disney Magic....

EWWWWW! yeah, I can concede that's pretty gross. Don't blame you. Wishing you better next trip!

Hi All :)

We can't book until this time next year but we're going in April 2017 and looking at staying at CBR if the prices remain similar.

(It's $450 less than the other mods for 2 weeks with free dining!)

CBR looks really great, so quite excited to try it. Not stayed at a mod before, or had DDP, so all new for us!

Was watching videos of the new rooms, looks like there are no blow dryers in the rooms any more. Just wondering if I need to add my Blow Dryer.

Booked a standard room with FD 10/25-10/30! This is our first stay at CBR. Our only other mod was POR with FD in 2013. This trip is unexpected-- we were planning to wait until January and get AP's again, but when I realized we could get this week with FD at CBR, then upgrade to an AP for just under $1000 more, I saw this as an opportunity to get a week at Disney during F&W for $1000 (see how I did that math there? Disney math is SO much better than regular math!) That's our AP trick-- book a week in a mod with FD, then upgrade to an AP before we enter the first park (technically I think you can upgrade at any point in your stay? It always, always works out better than a RO discount at a deluxe. I owe this little trick to the Dis!:dancer:

Has anybody cabbed it over from the Boardwalk to CBR? We have some nights where we will end up at the back side of Epcot, and it seems much easier to walk to the BW (or Beach Club?) and take a quick cab ride back. Curious if anybody knows the cost! We are SO excited-- planning to surprise the kids with the trip. They think we are not going until January, and I hear 50 times a week how they reeeeeaaaaallllly wish we could go to Disney for Halloween.

You are so right about Disney math. My wife always jokes that I have a Masters Degree in Disney Math! :teacher:

We have taken many a cab from CBR to BC and it is usually ~$16 +tip. I will say this though, we have had a couple late nights at Jelly Rolls on the Boardwalk and have found that there are buses that run from the Boardwalk to CBR and the other resorts. Not sure how early they start running though, just something to keep in mind.

We just got back yesterday from our first stay at CBR. We were there for 9 nights and really loved this resort. I was nervous about going mod again after doing BC and BWI in the last 2 years. Stayed Pop for a short trip and didn't care for it at all and POFQ a few years ago and didn't love it either. Thought I'd share a bit about our experience.

The only negative that happened during our trip was the check in process. I don't think it was CBR's fault but somehow our new MB were linked to a Keys to the Kingdom card from our stay at BC 2 years ago. It took the CM quite some time to straighten it out so they could reset the bands and make sure they were linked to our new room. I requested Jamaica 45 and ground floor but was originally placed in Jamaica 41. I asked if there was a chance of moving to 45 or 46 and she made a call and spent some time talking to the person who assigns rooms. With some maneuvering they got us on the ground floor in 46, room 4631 to be exact (and they moved my MILs room nearby). It was a lovely room with the murphy bed. Great location right around the corner from the bus and a 5 minute walk over to OPR and it faced the courtyard area. Also very convenient to the quiet pool, ice and laundry. Great size room for a family of 5 and plenty of storage and shelf space for our needs. The sliding doors were a nice touch when trying to get ready in the morning without waking the kids.

The CMs were all great. The resort was very quiet. I think once I heard a door close in the room next to us but otherwise never heard any noise at all from other rooms. The beds were very comfy and mousekeeping was good. Buses were much better than I expected after all the negative reviews. Many times we walked right out and onto a bus immediately. Including wait time for bus to arrival at our destination it took 19 minutes to get to DTD, pretty much always around 25 minutes to MK, Epcot was less but I can't recall exactly. HS seemed to be the closest park and we had trips there or back that were under 15 minutes even including wait time for the bus. Jamaica was often a first pick up or drop off point which was nice. We never once had to go around the entire resort. Longest was when they started at Martinique and when I timed it the bus took 10 minutes from there to Jamaica. All in all I'd say the bus service was on par with what we had at BC and BWI and better than what we experienced at Pop.

The kids LOVED the little splash zone area with the pirate ship and slides. It was perfect for our little guys who can't swim yet, but love to get wet.

The resort definitely has a very relaxed, laid back feel to it that we really enjoyed. We spent a little time at the beach lounging in a hammock just enjoying the view. My 6 year old was a huge fan of the arcade. QS never had long lines while we were there and fast service. Even with gluten free requests.

Bell services was also very quick and friendly.

We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for all the great info that helped us in planning for this trip!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You hit on a lot of the reasons we love CBR.

If I'm in a preferred room with FD, do I need to make any other requests for room preference? Close to pool and OPR? any advice would be welcomed.

By default a preferred room is going to be extremely close to OPR and the main pool. Now you may want to request a view of the courtyard, first floor, second floor, water view, etc. It is all a matter of preference.

We will be checking in the exact same day as you...can't wait! Only 12 days away and we still haven't told our 2 daughters...the surprise is gonna be awesome!

ONe more week. I can't believe it. I can't believe we are going again! When I planned our first trip, my husband said "nobody needs to go more than once" and we could take the kids once, but that's it. By the end of that trip he said "OK, well, nobody needs to go more than once every two years." But this time?!? It's only been EIGHT MONTHS! Eek! I think it's safe to say, I have won him over!!!
