Hi guys. In the middle of booking adrs and writing packing lists!

Would anyone know if the sell swimming goggles in the shop? Preferably the uv tinted kind?

Many thanks x

The amount of walking needed at CBR is one of the most exaggerated details I read on the DIS. The furthest room from OPR is in Building 39 which are all Pirate Themed rooms. That location is about an 12 minute walk at a relaxed pace. We had neighbors of our staying in a Pirate room 2 weeks after our stay and they had heard the "horror stories" about the "20-25" minute walks to OPR and the main pool. (As an aside, it only takes 20 minutes to walk around the entire lake) So during our stay I went to the furthest point of Building 39 and went up to the 2nd floor and found the furthest room. I timed my walk to OPR at it was 12 minutes. That included me stopping and taking about 10 pictures along the way as the scenery is just beautiful.

We love Jamaica 45 which is about a 4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR. My estimation is that 75% of the non-preferred rooms are between 4-7 minute walk to OPR and the main pool. Some of the closest non-preferred locations are

Jamaica 44 and 45
Aruba 51 and 52
Martinique 21, 22 and 23

The above 7 buildings are between 3-6 minute walk.

We have stayed in Barbados 11, Jamaica 45 and Jamaica 41 and I would run for breakfast to bring back to the room for all of us while my wife and son got ready and it was a breeze from all three locations. It never once felt like a chore.

Thanks! That sounds great. I enjoy a few minutes of quiet in the morning, so walking a few minutes sounds nice before a full park day.

What are the favorite CS options in the OPR? Breakfast and dinner? We do have reservations for Shutters one night. The menu looks fun!

We happened upon and fell in love with the monkey cupcake at the cs. It had a banana filling and it was wonderful. Also the jerk chips came with the sandwich we got and they were covered in dusting if a jerk rub and the flavor was super good. Can't wait to return in April and get more of both of these!!!

I am more interested in location rather than view, etc. If I put my two requests as Jamaica and Aruba, will I most likely get one of them? What if I only put down one request?

It's almost impossible to say what the odds are of getting your requests met because it all depends on occupancy and how many other guests made those same requests. But if I had to guess I would say if you list them both your odds of getting one of them is pretty good. Especially if you are requesting a village instead of a specific building. Each village has 6 buildings so that's a lot of rooms.

Any updates on the refurb? Wondering if all the standard rooms are done. Last I checked there were 2 more buildings in Martinique, but wasn't sure if Martinique was all standard rooms or if some were preferred. Trying to guess our probability of getting a new room when we arrive on the 21st :)

The most recent update is in post #1 from 1-20-15. No recent visitors have reported back anything new. Poster jdd posted a yesterday that they will be there next Friday and will report back with an update. :thumbsup2:banana:

Thanks-I'm also happy to update or try to answer any questions when I'm there in 8 days!!!

Seeing some horror stories about young cheerleader groups taking over the resorts in some other threads. Anybody have any experience with this? We will be there April 26-May 2.

DH and I will be at CBR May 14-17th. On the 14th we plan on doing Epcot (we have an early morning flight). I was thinking we would hit either Cape May or Beaches and Cream for a late dinner after the park closes. I know we can walk from Epcot to Beach Club, but what's the best way to get back to CBR from there? Will we have to go back to Epcot and take a bus to CBR?

There are two entrances to Epcot, the 'front' entrance where the buses are, and the 'back' entrance from which you will be walking to dinner. If the park is closed, you will not be able to walk back to Epcot to take the bus back to your resort. You will need to take a bus from Beach Club to Downtown Disney (or another park that is open) and from there catch the bus to CBR. Of course, I may be wrong, things may have changed ;)

Or this may be a time that taking a taxi back to CBR makes sense.

What products are in the bathroom when you arrive? Is there shampoo and conditioner, or is it an all in one product? Body lotion? I usually bring all my own, but I'm trying to cut down on luggage weight because I'm a terrible packer when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Hopefully somebody who has been there recently, or somebody who actually pays better attention to these things, can confirm but I believe there are bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

Can I have a list of your friends and family members... I would like to have that many gift cards in a year.

Kona65 Alot of us buy the disney gift cards at a discount or with money/gift cards earned from rewards programs and I am assuming that's what dansdad does as well.... If not I would like that list also, lol
