Disney's Boardwalk, where is it?

Is the boardwalk a new area to WDW? my family and I have been to WDW 3 times but have never been to or heard of the boardwalk.

My daughter looked it up and said it's somewhere near EPCOT. How would we get to the boardwalk and what kind of attractions are there?

We're looking to book the character dining there for next October, the bon voyage breakfast with rapunzel and flynn (if it's still available), could we get a bus over from Saratoga Springs Resort or would we have to walk over to the bus station in disney springs?

Many Thanks!

Do you know where the beach/yacht club and/or swan/dolphin are? It's right across the lake from those. You exit the international gateway in world showcase and go left to the boardwalk. It's not new.

There is some nighttime entertainment and you can rent surrey bikes there.

Uber or a taxi would be the fastest for that ADR.

The BoardWalk resort area has been there for 20 years now. This area includes the BoardWalk Resort, BoardWalk Villas, Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and Beach Club Villas. The BoardWalk itself, has a few restaurants, and some carnival-type games. Nothing major, no rides or anything like that. You can rent Surrey bikes to ride around the area as well. You can get to the BoardWalk by exiting EPCOT through the International Gateway, or taking a boat or walking from Hollywood Studios.

To get here from Saratoga Springs, you can either take a bus to Hollywood Studios and boat or walk, as mentioned above, or get a bus from Disney Springs to the BoardWalk Resort.

It is between DHS and the "back side" of Epcot. Look on a map site for Disney's Boardwalk Resort.

Depending on when your breakfast is, you may want/need to get a taxi/Uber/etc. to get there first thing in the morning. IMO the best way to get there Via Disney transportation is bus to DHS and boat to Boardwalk. You can also walk there from DHS but I've never tried it and it seems a bit of a hike.

You cannot reach Boardwalk from the front gate of Epcot without entering Epcot and walking all the way through the park and out the International Gateway (in other words, you'd need park admission).

The last thing I would ever do at WDW is use Disney Springs as a bus transfer point to anywhere. I've had limited experience with buses there (when it was DTD) but I swear it was all bad (crazy long waits).

I've eaten at Boardwalk but someone else will have to comment on entertainment etc. there.

It opened in 1996 and it's an Epcot resort. Like people have said you can't get to it by going to Epcot unless you enter Epcot and walk all the way to the back and exit the international gate. You can go to DS, AK or MK and change buses/get on a BW bus if you're close to any of them or you can bus to DHS and either walk or ride the boat to the BW. Like people have said the fastest way would be Uber or taxi.

There are no real "attractions there like shows or rides. It is mainly a hotel/ restaurant complex with some shops and in the evening Carnival style games. It is not new

No attractions but we love going to the Boardwalk for the restaurants!
Really good food options there. Some shopping too. As others mentioned resorts etc to

We love the Boardwalk. We stay at the Boardwalk Inn often. We love the nighttime entertainment. We love to get ice cream and dessert and just sit and relax at night.

During daytime hours you won't find much more than you find at any of the hotels. Activities start later on in the afternoon, closer to evening hours.

My husband and sons enjoy a bike ride so I'm sure they'll be delighted by this news :D I had no idea - we were under the impression the only place to rent a bike on the premises was at SSR

wow this is a lot of useful information! thank you , I'll keep that in mind and probably opt for the DHS bus ride and the boat to the Boardwalk itself.

My DD has been saying we ought to visit more than one park each day to have more variety so perhaps at some point we'll spend the morning in epcot and the evening at the boardwalk.

If it's at the back of epcot maybe it'd be a good idea to 'taste our way around the world' seeing as we're visiting during the food & wine festival. Two birds with one stone :cloud9:

I've been hoping to visit more shops and the family really enjoy the entertainment at dining or just in the street at DHS and DS so it sounds like a win-win.

The kids will probably enjoy the ice cream and sweet treats the most though

it's the food that caught our interest to begin with. My husband loves pastries and I read the boardwalk has more to offer for sweeter foods, so I'm sure we'll all enjoy an evening there

Surrey bikes are not traditional 2 wheel bikes. They are 4 wheeled, either a 1 or 2 row seater with canopies. Multiple people ride each one

I think you are still a bit confused. The Boardwalk is not " at the back of Epcot". It is totally outside of Epcot. Google it and there is lots of info out ther
Have Fun

oh I must have misread; I thought we had to enter epcot at one side, leave the other, then walk over to the boardwalk :o

Yes. You can get to the Boardwalk by entering the Main Gate of Epcot, walking through Future World into World Showcase and out through the International Gateway between the U.K. and France. But you don't have to.
You can go directly to the Boardwalk via Disney transportation and also from Disney Hollywood Studios.

nope not confused at all it is out the back of Epcot at the international gate as far away from the front of Epcot as you can get which is the main entrance.

Perhaps this will help to clarify where the Boardwalk Resort is locate din relation to EPCOT.

It is within easy walking distance to the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. It s outside the park.

It was during our third trip to WDW that my family discovered the Boardwalk area. We had dinner at the Garden Grill and wandered out the back of the hotel afterwards. We like to visit during the evening when they have live entertainment. It's a nice alternative to being at the parks all the time.

Catch the bus to Hollywood Studios and walk to The Boardwalk. Much quicker to walk than taking the boat.
