Yes I worded my question wrong I have a little mermaid room/ free dining package booked, and what I was trying to ask was what happens if they are over booked, what would happen if I get there late afternoon on my check in date and they had no rooms left? Where would they put us, would are money be refunded and we would have to drive home?

You will not have to drive home. When a mistake like that occurs, you will be upgraded. :)

Ok thanks you that was all I needed to know :)
It's my first time there in 15 years and my children's first trip so I'm just getting a little worried

Hi all

I am new to this thread and am so overwhelmed by the number of pages!
I am hoping to come for our first family trip jan 2013 with my hubby, 4 yr old and 8 moth old. This is one of tha places we are considering. Might my kids find it Disney overload?
How are the places to eat here - we don't eat meat
How long does it take to get to the parks and is taking a cab an option?
Thank you all for your wisdom and advice!

Disney does not normally overbook. On the rare occasion that they do not have a room you booked it is normally because of unforeseen issues like an emergency repair. If you are unable to get the type of room you booked, Disney will find you the same or most likely an upgraded room type.

If you are planning to come in January of 2013, I would suggest, if you haven't already, that you at the very least book a room only reservation for this resort, because I believe it will fill up quickly.

I don't think it would be Disney overload, but I love it that way.

We didn't eat there, but it looked like there were alot of options, meatless included. The menu seemed a bit healthier than most of the Disney dining options.

You could take a cab, but I wouldn't. The bus ride isn't bad at all. It's no more than about 15-20 minutes to almost anywhere on property. We drive down and have our vehicle, but we always use Disney transportation. If we have a dining reservation at one of the other resorts or at the park, we do allow 1 to 1.5 hours for travel and getting through bag check and the gate and to move hrough the crowd to get to the restaurant.

1. It will be packed.
2.POP will fill up quickly as well, with the overflow of people who wanted a LM room, couldn't get one for their dates, and stayed nearby so they could check it out.
3. If an error is made after you reserved and paid and the LM section is overbooked, you will be magically upgraded.
4. If you have not yet been able to book for the dates you want, book your
2nd choice now and call at 35-45 days out (every day) in case of cancellations.

I am really glad we are already booked for the first week of LM opening, :cheer2: however I am fully aware that the place will be PACKED. I have never stayed at a 100% occupancy resort before, (except during hurricane ike, but that was locals looking for refuge.) Those of us there will have to demonstrate the utmost in patience and courtesy. The food court will be packed (FD), especially in the morning, and the pools will be crowded. Expect tons of visitors from other resorts stopping by to check it out and get photo ops.

Wow ... did not know how popular the LM rooms would be ... staying one night on Sept 21st before we transfer to POR but it sounds exciting. :yay:

is it just me or is anyone else worried that they might run out of little mermaid rooms? it seems that so many people are booking them and availibility is scarce and selling out what would happen if they sell out?

Worry no more...because it's happening! :scared1:

Seriously, I had all my ADRs and what park on what days planned out and I (stupidly) waited to book AoA LM room hoping to get a deal (bounceback, FL res, AP holder) and when I looked today, our first night (Nov 30) was already booked solid! The night before is also booked.

I panicked a little bit, but we were kinda flexible on the dates, so I went ahead and booked and I think it will work out, but for anyone who really wants to stay at AoA, especially a LM room, and you're willing to pay rack rate, I would definitely go ahead and book!

Yep, I booked a weekend trip a couple months ago for the first weekend of December. Never figured that time could be tough to get...but I am glad I booked when I did. Now, I feel kind of bad that a short surprise trip with my wife might keep some little kids from staying at AoA :sad1:. We just want to see the new resort cause the pic's look great!

If you book now at rack rate and get some type of discount later you can always call and have it applied. That's my plan. No harm in booking rack rate now and no need to wait for a discount :)

We are currently booked AoA LM room Nov 26-Dec 5. I looked again and it's SOLD OUT for those dates now :scared1: I was hoping when FD opens to the public, we can add FD to our reservation... Now, I'm assuming there will be no avail. at FD :sad2: Wondering if the buses/food court/pools/ect will be EXTREMELY crowded during this time... If so, I'm thinking of swapping to CSR with FD (ends up being $100 less than staying at AoA with DxDDP as we have booked now)... There's always next time to visit AoA!

I have stated at Pop many times when certain rooms were sold out. They probably have "general public" blocked off right now holding rooms for other promotions and such later. Don't stress! Even if the resort is booked to capacity it's a huge resort and not everyone will be there 100% of the time. When Pop is crowded its never been an issue for me. Just lots of ppl but that's to be expected at WDW. I'm not worried about it. Just excited that I got my room already! :)

Wow - I'm so glad I booked my late November reservation for a LM room awhile back. I truly thought most would want the suites and didn't even think about the LM rooms filling up.

I am so confused! Don't know what to do.
We were originally booked to stay at the POP, but I changed the reservation to AoA.
I'm still excited to stay there, but the distance from the LM rooms to the bus stops might make me change the reservation back to POP.
Another issue would be my DD5 who is a picky eater. I can't really see anything on the kids menu that she would like. No simple sandwiches...no hotdogs...:-(

We have 2 early 8am ADRs when we go at the end of august. I'm curious to know the bus times in the morning for pick up and how reliable they are from AOA?

I have read that it is about a 1/4 of a mile and should take about 5 min. to walk from LM to the bus stops.

We have an early ADR as well (at DHS). I was told by a CM from Disney's transportation dept. that buses start running at 6:30 for MK and an hour before the parks open for the other parks.
