IS that a covered waiting area for busses in front of the main building??

Sure looks like it is to me. :cheer2:

I am currently booked at POP for Oct. If they offer free dining for LM rooms for our dates we will switch, but we can only do it if there is an ice cream place in the food court. Sundaes are a big part of our vacation, so if there are no sundaes for dessert then we will have to stay put.:rotfl:

Refound this pic. It gives a pretty good perspective of the distance of the LM room to the main building. It doesn't look bad at all. :thumbsup2
Definitely would love to be in building seven! View of the courtyard or lake. :woohoo:

The LM buildings are at the top of the page. Directly under those are the Lion King suites and then the main building under that.

I am currently booked 9/29 to 10/6 at PORFQ and I see the Little Mermaid rooms are currently available for my dates.
We are celebrating my DD's 7th Birthday. I think my DD would enjoy AOA much better and after all, this is her birthday celebration.
I am on the edge of switching my reservation. What do you all think? I know its hard since it is a new resort, but that is also part of the appeal. Please help.

How often do you get a chance to stay at a brand new resort? I'd go with AoA for your DD's birthday celebration. PORFQ will be there for another trip.

I am wondering if anybody has started an official AOA info thread. I am thinking I would like to switch our reservation over to 2 suites at AOA instead of 2 rooms at Pop,

I mention a few pages ago that we will be the ones to do the first ever AoA official info thread!!! That's really going to be fun, but as a PP wrote, for now this is the official AoA thread and I think he is right. As we all go down on our trips we will bring back info and photos and tips and in 2013 there will be the first 'Official AoA Info Thread'. I think you should switch your rooms and be a part of this exciting new resort along with the rest of us! :thumbsup2

I am 99% this thread has become the defacto official AoA thread. :goodvibes

I agree, Jcarwash. :woohoo:

Oh my....decisions, decisions. This is wonderful news that AoA is offering FD! My 25yo daughter and I are currently booked at CBR in Sept with free dining. This is our first trip to the World so we have no preconceived expectations. Everything will be new to us. Since her favorite character is the Little Mermaid I am wondering if I should switch over to AoA LM wing. I am open to suggestions.

I have stayed many times at the CBR, but this is your chance to stay in a brand new resort and help to 'Christen' it. Although I always think of CBR as my resort, I'm going to AoA this Fall and I can't wait.

I took the plunge and booked us today! Nov 15th-21st in a LM room. I am hoping that FD follows the pattern of past years and ends the Thursday before Thankgiving, and that AoA is included!

I'm going the following week and we're so hoping for FD, too. Wouldn't that be great?

I didn't realize that's what your SD was for. What a great idea.

Cinderella73, I'm very familiar with service dogs, but never heard of a dog for sniffing out allergens. What an an amazing service for families like yours (and my cousins-I can't wait to tell her about this!). Animals are so much smarter than so many people think.

Congrats ! Just wanted to tell you I love your snack list.

Where can this snack list be found please? I'm extremely into WDW snacks! LOL That's why I read 'The Disney Food Blog'. They really do a lot of coverage on snacks and treats!

That's so funny cause the sundaes at POP are one of the best things about a Disney vacation for us. We switched but are hoping AoA will have the sundae station as well. If not, we'll have to walk the bridge a couple times to get our fix from POP.

WE will too. We loved the pop sundaes

just wanted to let you know, (not that there's anything you can do about it), but there are "barney Fifes" who report people for having too many people staying in a room.. watch and see how many walk out.
someone posted on the dis that this happened to them.. they had connecting rooms.. they were stopped by a Cm and had to take the time to show all their room cards.
someone else posted on the dis that they do and will keep an eye out for too many in a room and "will" report it!

I find this funny because you never know..besides connecting rooms, you can very well be vacationing with another family, and meeting up with them in one room for a bit. I'm sure we will do this often with our son's family.

we also met up with dissers, and they drove us back to POFQ, and wanted to see the room, and they came into our room for a cocktail.. we walked them back out, there were 5 adults leaving a room for only 4 !

2 rooms = 2 room keys. But if you get connecting rooms you could all just enter from one room and walk through.
Either way - fun to stay at a new resort!

Just switched from POP to Art of Animation for free dining in September. I am so excited to see this resort:goodvibes My daughter who is 5 will love the zero entry pool:thumbsup2

Sorry, haven't read through the thread, but wondering what the first day is this hotel will be open to guests? Staying at ASMo in a few weeks and would love to visit if it's open by then...

Hmmmm... these sundaes you speak of... I have never had them but they are now added to the list of thing to try this year. I need to move. If I work really hard and save my money do you think I could retire to a Value hotel and eat the dining plan for the rest of my life??

I think it's May 31st for the first section.

My family will be staying at AOA next year and we can not wait. There will be 7 of us going in total. My sister is a huge fan of little mermaid and would love to stay in that section. However, my 85 year old grandmother will be going and when we go into the parks we have to use a wheel chair because she has a tough time getting around. I was wondering what people think we should do. Should we book 2 rooms in the little mermaid section or one in finding nemo and little mermaid. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Why don't you just all stay together in the LM area; I think it would be more fun than being separated. As for Grandmom, just get her a wheelchair that you could all take turns pushing her in. As far as I know, ALL hotels on WDW property have W/Cs that you can borrow for your time there. (I've used them in the past.) :thumbsup2

Just wanted to mention...I finally called today to change my reservation from a Nemo suite and take advantage of free dining. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out the Nemo suites are now included in the promotion, so I can keep a "nice room view", and still enjoy new food court!

I did the math, and I was paying rack rate before, so buying the tickets from Disney instead of a discount seller is $35 more for the tickets for ds and I, and I'm going to use dh's two-day ticket in January. Free dining really is as free as I can imagine for us!

Zero entry? Cool! I love zero entry and if my 3 y/o nephew goes it will be perfect for him.;)

And thanks to those who posted link to my snack credit thread. If anyone is looking for it and doesn't want to go back to find link it is in my siggy below.
