Please make sure you post back on here to let us know. DS likes to 'camp out' with DH, so they would more than likely end up in this bed, but I really don't want DH to have a back ache from the bed like he did from the ASMu sleeper sofa.

We are booked for July, I've read everything I can find about the rooms. I believe there is both a sofa sleeper and a murphy bed, both are doubles in the main living area. There is a queen (I believe) in the bedroom.

We are hopefully planning a Nov 2012 trip and staying here. We looked at the rooms online and my boys of course like Cars best. Lion King looks cool too, but I have a feeling we will end up at Cars. I haven't read through this whole thread, but does anyone know which building is closest to bus stop and food court?

To me it looks like Finding Nemo will be closest.

Ugh! I don't like the Nemo rooms. The carpet gives me a headache lol. Where did you find the map? I wonder which building is the next closest. That may be how we decide between Lion King and Cars :thumbsup2

Lion King and Cars don't look too far, though. Little Mermaid is the furthest. I wouldn't hesitate to book Cars and I always pay for preferred at Pop.

OMG I thought the exact same thing!!!! I figured I'd feel like the room was spinning once I laid down - without a drink!

Here is a site map posted as part of a MouseSteps report:

If you're familiar with Pop Century, it looks to me like the AOA building layout is sort of similar:

Little Mermaid~80s/90s
Lion King~70s
Finding Nemo~60s
Cars~50s

I thought the same thing about the Nemo rooms. i'm actually not a fan of the decorating in any of the rooms. I love, love the idea of such a heavily themed resort, but I'm not loving any of the themes here. I think I like the Lion King theming best but don't like that it won't have it's own pool.

We'll probably stay here anyways since we only do suites so affordable options are limited.

Thanks! It looks like Lion King and Cars are pretty much the same distance from the main building. I like Lion King rooms the best, but do like the idea of the Cars themed pool, etc. My boys both really like Cars so I'm sure that's what we will go with when/if we go. Fingers crossed for a Nov PIN! :goodvibes

It's so funny how everyone likes different themes. Nemo is my favorite. It seems rather soothing to me. The Lion King is way too busy and loud for me. But we will be in the Cars one, which I think is pretty good. DS and DD finally both agreed to that one, so that's what we are doing.

Not dense at all ..only The Little Mermaid section will have standard rooms, all the rest are family suites.

I have a LM room booked for May 2013 -, called Disney -don't want to miss out on getting one for my little girl - average was about $ 125 per night - not much of a value - but hey, it's only money.

I had no idea you could already book over the phone. I'll be emailing my TA immediately.

Does anyone know - If I do a hotel only reservation now, does it guarantee me the room when packages come out to just switch over? I don't have to cancel/rebook right? We want to stay at AoA next June and there's only 3 of us so Little Mermaid section it will be.

No, I'm sorry that is not correct. If you make a room only reservation that does not "save" your room for when you want to book a package. If you know you are going to want a package that included room and ticket and/or dining then that's what you need to book. For example if you have a room only discount and a free dining discount is released, you would have to cancel your room only reservation and rebook under a Magic Your Way package. Or even if you want the dining plan, you could not just add tickets and dining to a room only reservation - you would, once again, have to cancel the room only reservation and totaly rebook under a Magic Your Way package.

It used to be that way, but not anymore...but for deals like free dining, they only have so many available, so it doesn't guarantee that you will get it for what you have booked.

You can easily add tickets and dining to a room only.

Anybody planning on staying opening day? We are considering a split stay with POR (May 20-May 31) and then AoA from May 31-Jun 3. I wonder when we can check in? :thumbsup2

If you stay take pictures and let us know the scoop on how wonderful it is:) Thank you...

Did they tear down the building that was partially built from the Pop Century phase II. Or did they use that in making the Art of Animation?? If so, which building is it?

Thanks,
Maggie

There were several partially built buildings that all stayed. I think the main hall-check in/food court was pretty much complete. I think there were 2 buildings that are now part of the 3 that will be the Little Mermaid "regular" rooms. I think if these 2 buildings weren't already there there wouldn't have been any non suites at AoA.

Is there any concern about the building having been left out to the elements for so long?? I'm not in construction and have no clue, but it seems like everything being rained on and exposed to the elements isn't good. Can anyone reassure me about this?? I have allergies to mold, dust, etc. and am concerned.

Maggie
