I think that's exaggerated. I've stayed at Pop numerous times and it's never taken me 25 minutes to get to MK!

lol Jenny! Well what can I say? I haven't been there in 15 years! All I can quote is the book. Maybe it's giving you maximum time? :confused3 Maybe the driver is taking a very lesurely drive? Looking for alligators on the side of the road? :P

- Since all the buses have GPS, you may run across a bus driver taking the long way.
- They use to be able to go park somewhere or hide in plain site by driving in circles.
- By law they can not drive more than 2 hours without a break. Since most routes are about an hour and a half, they spend lots of time on break.

I have a distant relative who drives a monorail train. We got a lot of juicy gossip when we were there.

- most of the people who use scooters really need to walk more and or eat less.
- They call scooters "Fattywagons".

Who is excited about the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel next to Pop century?
I would like to start this and see how many is planning on staying there....I will post some more information about it when I get it.

I am very excited! My daughter and I are staying at the Pop Century in January for the 1/2 marathon!

Has anyone heard if they will keep the walking bridge between POP & AOA. If we stay at POP I would like to visit AOA just to look at the icons.

The bridge was still there yesterday....BUT it makes absolutely no sense now with the dates on it LOL so not sure if they'll leave it or just remodel it to fit in better?

Simply based on this photo, I'd say the bridge is staying.

Thanks for posting that map. I was just about to ask if anyone knew how far the Cars section would be from the check in area. Building 1 appears to be the building to request for an easy walk to the food court and bus area.

I'm thinking they'll just change the name to Hourglass Bridge and remove the years from the railing.

The pond is called Hourglass Lake.

This looks like the mirror image of the Pop Century building layout (no surprise there really) and I like to request building 1 at Pop for the reasons you cite. :goodvibes

is #17 the food court? And so where's the bus stop? Right in front of it?

Like all the other resorts ... yes, bus stops out front.

I'm willing to bet they'll share a bus with Pop ... so long the Pop only bus.

Those two last statements are the best I've ever heard! Just returned from Disney and couldn't agree more! Lol!

We are planning a trip for our family of 5 for June 2012. Thinking about staying at this resort- it looks awesome- but my main concern is that the entire resort will not be open yet. I'm afraid there's going to be noise and construction - not very magical. Thoughts?

Has anyone booked the free dining plan offer with this hotel for August yet? If so do you know if they offer the free quick service plan or the regular dining plan if you are staying in a suite?

Some DISers have posted that they were able to book AOA using the bounce back offer last month. You can book the quick service plan for free. You have to upgrade to the other 2 plans.

Are the suites more expensive than that the moderate resorts? If so, I think they should offer the regular dining plan if you book a suite.

Yes they are alot more expensive than the moderates. I priced out CBR, CSR, and POR and AOA suites were like over $1000 more than staying in a reg. room at a moderate.

I agree that the regular dining plan should be included with the AOA family suites when free dining is offered.

I'd love to stay at AOA but staying at POP worked out to like $2000 cheaper.

AoA is considered value just like the family suites at ASMu. Because of that, they get value level promotions. Based on price it sure would be nice if they were treated like moderates since they're priced more like the cabins but that's just not how they're being treated.

We booked the bounceback for next August and got QSDP for free. We have to book 2 rooms at values or moderates anyway so this wasn't much more expensive than that and we're looking forward to the queen bed in the bedroom. There's no way to guarantee a king room connected to a regular room when booking 2 rooms at a value so I see the higher price compared to 2 values as the cost of the kitchenette and preferred room configuration and guarantee connection.
