Wow! The food here looks so yummy and so much more interesting than just your burgers and fries! Fab! Already deciding in my head what to put in my smoothie.....make my own breakfast etc!
Have just swapped our 2 day from POR to AOA Cars Section! Very excited!!!

Looking forward to our trip soon...I was reading the disneyfoodblog and they brought up a good point. They were talking about waiting awhile for their food to cook, but that because the resort was not at full capacity yet it wasn't too crowded.

Good point - we are going shortly after Cars opens (staying in Cars) and I'm actually glad the LK and LM sections aren't opened yet - it will be less crowded I think in the food lines, bus lines...etc. Good time to go for those of you joining me in the next little while!

Hello, is this the official Art of Animation resort thread?

I checked online with Disney and it wouldn't let me request the Little Mermaid section. Is it not open yet? Does anyone have pictures? Thank you!:)

The Little Mermaid section does not open until September 15th. It's at the very far end of the resort that is currently blocked off to guests, so there have been very few photos of the rooms/area other than those put out by Disney, which is basically just this:

It's also worth noting that the LM rooms will not be suites. They will be the size of typical Value rooms (as they use the buildings originally intended to be part of Pop Century).

ETA: Here is the link to a couple additional photos and info about the Little Mermaid rooms: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/art-of-animation-resort/little-mermaid-rooms/

Thanks! Wow, so they won't be suites? Bummer since we're a family of 5. Oh well.

So, can you request the section you want when booking? My whole family loves Nemo.

Yep! When you book on the Disney site (or any other site that books WDW resorts), you can request which themed room you'd like to be in.

Awesome! I thought it would be like Pop where you can just request but aren't guaranteed. Great, thanks a lot! We love Nemo, though I'm partial to Little Mermaid but since they don't offer suites, we'll love trying Nemo instead.:thumbsup2

They did make a very good point. I don't mind waiting a little extra for my food to be made fresh, but when it's crowded, it may become chaos, especially for families. I'll just try to stick to off dining times.

Maybe someone already posted this - I don't want to read through 195 pages to see - but my mom and I noticed something from watching videos of AoA on YouTube. The entrances to the rooms are very hotel-like. Unlike the other values, you enter the rooms inside and not outside. I like that better.

And is anyone staying at AoA during November? I will be staying the 26-28th in the Little Mermaid rooms. I am very excited to stay here and I was just wondering if anyone else will be there at that time.

From what I can tell, the Little Mermaid section will have the outside doors like all other value resorts. Only the suite sections have the interior hallways.

Count us in for November 25-December 1st in Finding Nemo ♥

This easywdw report does have photos of the drink menus at The Drop Off pool bar. Because there are no snack menu photos, I don't know if there are no snacks or not.

Not sure on the hours either.

Anything else I can help not answer? ;)

Thanks for the link!!!

It is the standard drink menu that most resort bars have. There is limited food in the cooler, but being so close to the food court, it doesn't need much. The hours are noon-midnight.

Thanks!!

Just curious as to why they didn't make the suites with exterior entrance but they did with the LM rooms?
