Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Last year, 2013, the End Zone food court was closed from approximately August 5th through December 20th for a complete renovation.

If there's going to be work from August 4th through September 20th 2014, I'd assume it would be some kind of refurbishment work, not the same level of major renovation as last year.

Is your reservation information from Disney or another travel agency? Is it possible there is still text covering last year's renovation that is now out of date?

As a side note, during my visit last month the area between the lobby and the food court was walled up for some kind of work starting on the second or third day I was there. You had to go around the outside of the building to get to transportation. I wasn't told by Disney this work would be going on.

I booked through Disney itself but thanks for the info! If they did this work I'm surprised it would still be on the info they mailed us. It did say we would have to eat at one of the other food courts... I hope not!

no, it is true that music is having the food court down for those dates due to a complete over haul of their food court.


i think it was listed on wdwinfo in June also.

if you booked at music, you will probably get the official letter from disney sometime this month about the music food court being down.

I've been looking to book in Sports for Nov. But on every site I've been on its looking like the dates that I'm after are gone. Could it be that the resort is fully booked for those dates? I'll be really upset if I can't stay in Sports. I really like that resort.

probably due to free dining promotion. Possible that it could be sold out.

I guess that must be the case. There is nothing on here (I'm in the UK) but I think they're doing a promotion in the US.

when are you going to he there? We are going in about 4 months too. Nov 1-7. It can't come fast enough for me either. We are waiting to tell the kids until the day we leave and it's killing me!

I need to warn you... there will be TONS of pictures! One of my biggest fears of going for 15 days is that I will run out of memory cards!

That is okay. I love pictures. There is a AS Sports picture thread but it gets lost way down in the pile. There aren't any new pics being added. Just promise you will have pics of the resort for us

Don't worry, there will be TONS of pictures of the resort! I spent one night at AoA and then the rest at Pop on my last trip (just finishing up the TR before we go!) and the last day alone, I have about 170 of AoA and 78 of Pop Century! Now, it was my third stay at Pop, so I have tons of it already. But there will be tons and tons of the All Star Resorts, if I get my way! Can't wait!

Yes! Free dining and we just paid to upgrade to the dining plan with one table service. What a deal!

How many children do you have? I remember the days when my now two grown sons would actually go with us to Disney. There are plenty of Septembers which we took advantage of the free dining promo. Those boys can eat and our meals would come to over 300 dollars, thank god for free dining.

Be prepared though: it is a lot of food.

we have two boys, 11 and 8. I paid for my 8 year old as an adult ticket so he could have the adult dining plan as he likes to order off the adult menu and can eat his money's worth. This is the first time we have done dining plan with them, my husband and I have done it before kids. I will love going and letting them order whatever they want off the menu and not worrying about costs. Free dining is great when you use it efficiently. We have our favorites like ohanas, cape May, and now we are trying some new ones without worrying about prices. Can't wait for Halloween! We arrive that morning and staying first night at wilderness lodge before moving to all star sports.
