We just got back from 4 nights at All Star Music. We had two rooms, a suite and then a regular (preferrred) room. Both were in Calypso, Bldg 1. Rooms 1416 (suite) and 1422. This was our 5th stay at Music and it didn't disappoint!

Our rooms were both so quiet. Both rooms were very clean. We absolutely loved the suite, it was our first time staying in one.

Cast members were great, bussing was fine and we rarely shared with Sports and Movies. Saturday night we walked up to the longest line at MK I have ever seen, but they were loading one bus, and had two more right behind it. So we actually got right on which was very nice!

Really thinking we will do the suite and additional room again for our March trip. It will be hard to go back to one bathroom after this last trip!

Went to go check in for our stay and the only option available is Calypso but we didn't pay for a preferred room. I'm confused.

We stayed at Sports in February. When I did on line check in I choose close to transportation and first floor and we were in a preferred building close to the food court. We payed for a standard room and I know the room we were in was definitely preferred. It could happen!

So after a lot of consideration and number crunching, I think our May 2017 trip will be in a suite at All Star Music. It's our first time at this resort (whenever I've done All Stars it's been sports). Which buildings are the suites in? Also, the kitchenette has a coffee maker, but is it a regular one, pods, or k-cups?

The family suites are in Calypso and Jazz buildings. Sorry, I don't know about the coffee maker, though, because it's been awhile since we were there and we didn't use it.

Here now and in case you're interested: There was a can of Cutter insect repellent in my room. Personally, I've never been bitten by a mosquito at WDW, but I know some are concerned.

Our stay is still 60 days out. I went on-line to schedule fast passes today, and noticed I could do on-line Check-in. Will I still need to check in 10 days prior to our trip also? I wasn't expecting that option until then. Thanks in advance for any info!

Do the online check in now. You won't have to do anything at all until you get there. You should get a text on the arrival date when your room is ready, and potentially get to skip the front desk.
You will need an active cell number associated with it as well as a credit or debit card attached on your Disney account.

    When I
When I was there October of 2015 the coffee pots were pods (little round filter of coffee) they did not use k-cups. Not the best picture but I hope this helps.

We just spent 13 days at music. The only time we experienced smoking outside of the designated areas was once while waiting for the bus and a few days in a row with the room next to us. The lady would sit outside her door on a scooter and smoke. Had it affected us I probably would have ratted her out, but it never became an issue. When there are rules in place for the comfort and health of others, I do find it pretty rude when people disregard them.

I will be staying at ASM for the first time this November. how does the food court compare to AoA or POP?

I've eaten at all three (ASMu & AoA a month ago). I found music to be pretty decent with a lot of options, good food, very friendly CMs and not too overwhelming. AoA seemed to have a few more interesting choices (especially for dessert) and they give you real plates and silverware, but omg total chaos. So busy and loud. It's been awhile since I've been to POP, but I remember it being pretty good. In comparison, I think music was easier to navigate than AoA, maybe because smaller resort=less people=less crazy.

We are booked in a family suite, is there a map somewhere that shows the location of family suites so I can make a room request?

I wouldn't worry-they are most likely just getting "refurbed'.:)
