Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Does anyone have any updates on the "beverage coolers" that they are meant to be installing? We'll be going in April :)

I have read they are supposed to go in in Feb and March....doing one building at a time.

I am not sure if this has been addressed or not and since I am at work I can really wade through 127 pages of info.

We are heading down to ASMo this coming monday and will be there over Valentines Day. Is there anyway I can have flowers/gifts delivered to our room with out using the DisneyFlorist. I got a livingsocial deal with proflowers and wanted to surprise my wife and kids with some strawberries and flowers. We will be at the park all day Tuesday and it wold be a nice surprise to find these in our room when we got back.

Thanks in advance.

I will try and find out from my best friend who is a CM. I know DisneyFlorists are the only flowers allowed on-site. I don't know how that would work if they were sent to the hotel. I would be surprised if they were allowed to be left in your room. Have you called the hotel directly?

I was wondering how far the standard rooms are from the main building/bus stop etc. I keep reading comments about its a long walk if you're in a standard room and it best to get a preferred building, are they within a mile a few hundred yards, a few blocks, or farther. I'm going to DW in June with my daughter and granddaughters we're staying in the all star movies resort, thanks for any answers

None of the rooms are really that remote. See the map:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmovie.htm

The bus stops are out in front of the Cinema Hall. The food court, front desk and gift shop are all in Cinema Hall. The rooms in the Fantasia, Dalmations and Toy Story are preferred. The standard rooms are in Herbie and Mighty Ducks. You can see that even the most remote rooms are just behind one set of buildings. If you are in Might Ducks you might find it quicker to use the All Star Music bus stop & food court.

I'm sure your granddaughters will love Movies!

There are usually several modes of transportation. The walks are usually very nice unless it's through the parking lots haha

You really aren't adding more than 5 minutes walk time, give or take a few, and it is a nice walk. It's a great resort! :thumbsup2

What is a beverage cooler?

The report is that:

All-Star Movies Resort – Beverage coolers installed in guest rooms from January 23 to March 16. The installation takes place one floor at a time between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Guests notified via an in-room flier the day before the work is scheduled to take place.

I know I'm anxious to see a photo of what they mean by beverage cooler and hear some first hand reports of how well they cool.

Hi! Fairly new to the DIS boards. Although we are staying at Pop on our next visit to appease the teenager since it will be the week after her high school graduation, my favorite resort is All Star Movies. My two year old cannot get enough of Woody and Buzz. I don't think I really even need to take her to the parks; she is perfectly happy playing around the Toy Story courtyard. Even though we are staying at Pop, I know we are going to have to make at least one trip over to visit Woody and Buzz or I will never hear the end of it! After this one trip, I'm sure we will be right back over at Movies for our next trip.

I have stayed at both the mighty ducks and Herbie and we found the walk to be about 7min or so. when at the mighty ducks we would use the bus stops at the resort in the morning cause we would fill our mugs on the way out some nights we would get off at music and walk back to the room that way as it was faster and we were tuckered....

Saw a post elsewhere asking if the doors are metal...in order to put magnets on it. Anyone know?
Thanks :thumbsup2

thank you all for the information, I think we'll enjoy our stay. I'm not too concerned about the distance. It just sounded from other people that it was quite a trek to get to the main bldg etc...thank again.

thank you for the link to the map that helps alot.

Just returned from our stay at all star movies, we were in the fantasia building. Sorry to report no cooler in our room.

I know that building requests aren't guaranteed, but in order to increase my chances of getting to stay in a Toy Story building (even though we won't complain if we end up elsewhere, because the whole resort looks awesome!), I've decided that we're not going to make any other room/floor requests. So, if we don't end up on the first floor, I started thinking about the railings and my nearly 3-year old who is 39" tall. If he were to run ahead and stand on a railing to try to look over (yikes), does anyone know approximately how high the railings are?!

My little boy is OBSESSED with Toy Story, but he also loves running and thinks he can fly... ;)

Just looked at a photo of myself-I'm 5'8"-and my 5'5" friend at Pop and the railing is above my waist and nearly at my freind's armpit. I'm sure ASMo are the same.

Never heard of any child climbing over them.

That's great. I'm only 4'10" so it sounds as though I'll just be able to peek over it myself :rotfl: so I don't need to worry about my boy :)

If he loves to run and thinks he can fly will you feel safe on the 3rd floor? I'd request 1st floor just so I don't have to worry about it.
