would you let your child stay there on their own.....

And how far would you go while they are there?

My husband and I would love to have some adult time with our Orlando friends and I cant decide between leaving them at Disneyquest, putting the two girls (12) in a childcare center (arent they a little old for those), getting an in-room sitter for them.....

I have pretty much decided that the 14 and 15 year olds are mature enough to stay on their own but cant figure out about the girls.

I also dont know if we should go to Jellyrolls like I wanted or to just go to Pleasure Island either way.

I was also thinking of having the 15 year old watch his sisters in Disneyquest.

No flames please....we have been to Disney with them many times and have never left them....yes it is a family vacation but my husband and I NEVER have time to ourselves and we are only talking about 3 hours at night. They will all have cellphones and I will probably bring walkie talkies too in case cell service is spotty.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Good stories? Bad stories?

Thanks!

(I was also thinking of taking just the the girls with us to the early Adventurers Club and Comedy Club but that wont be Adult time ...)

If I were a 12 yr old, I'd be embarrassed to be in the kids' clubs. Mostly younger kids. I don't think I'd leave them at DQ by themselves either, even with 15 yr old brother watching. How great of a watcher is he?? Plus you're asking a lot of him.

It is very hard to hear a cellphone or walkie-talkie in DQ, very noisy.

I wouldn't leave them alone at DQ either (I have twin DD12). I would feel much more comfortable leaving them with the 15 year old in the room (depending on the 15 year old's attitude). Other wise, I would suggest doing something that could include everyone (like going over to Fort Wilderness and letting the kids watch the outdoor movie while you and your friends visit on the side, but in view of the girls).

Or all of you could go to DQ and the adults could be in the cafe while the kids explore (with cell phones to keep in contact, but stay in the same building).

Or just have the friends come to the pool at your resort and let the kids swim while you visit at a pool side table.
