Can someone please explain the Disney Dining plan to me. How do you know how many credits it takes for each meal? I do know that the dinner shows are 2 credits but how do we know how many credits are for each dinner. We have 7 snack,7 quick service and 7 tableservice. Do not want to get to WDW and use them up and have none left for the restime of themw÷k. Thanks so much!

First, I plan my credits long before we get to WDW. I have booked all my TS dining, so I know how I have accounted for each TS meal.

For your QS and snack credits, when you make a purchace, the balance is printed on the reciept.

For the most part, TS meals are 1 credit each, and signature restaurants are 2. The website or allears.net will tell you hown many credits each estaurant is.

Have you booked dining? One thing to be aware of is that it can be difficult to eat on the fly in Disney. Not that you would go hungry because there are QS choices everywhere, but you have a plan that prepays your table service meals, and walk ins are rarely available in the parks.

First, you get one QS, Ts, and snack per person per night of your hotel reservation- so if you have 7 you have a 7 night/8 day reservation, right? (Some people think it is tied to days, so just clarifying!)

As PP said, booking ahead can help you keep track of it. Plus, in the booking process, it tells you how many credits each place is. Allears is also a good place to reference this, too- as PP said.

Every time you use a credit- TS, QS, or snack- you will get a receipt. You can look and see how many of each are left at the bottom of the recepit and track it that way.

Keep in mind that, other than TS, you don’t have to all use your credits at one time. You could buy 2 QS meals for 4 people to split, for example- and use 2 snack credits to get drinks for the other 2 people.

Each QS and TS meal comes with a dessert. They have changed the rules so that you can substitute a soup or salad at the TS and anything on the menu that is a snack credit at a QS.

Hopefully this is helpful and not overwhelming?

As others have said you need to make ADR's for most sit down restaurants well in advance. Having the DDP & TS credits to use does not guarantee availability at the restaurant of your choice the day you want to eat.
Check out the menus at allears.net
Good Luck
