I have heard a bit about how Disney is going to be redoing several attractions for the 50th (Pirattes, Haunted, Jungle Cruise, and I can't remember the other ones). Does anyone know if if there is anything else being planned ?? I know it is early but...no time like the present to start planning.

When do you think we should make our GC ressies for that weekend? Hubby wants to go on the day.
His Dad thinks he's nuts but, I love it.

But reading this post made me wonder how far in advance we would need to book our hotel ressies?

Anyone else as nuts as my hubby?

WDW- The other two rides are Space Mountain and Its a Small World...

There was also some mention of making Tom Sawyer Island more "interactive", but again, no specifics.

I'm sure there will be a special parade and/or fireworks, but I haven't heard what else may happen.

Good point about booking early for the actual date.

i wanna go on that day too but its gonna be a madhouse but who cares!!

I just want to be there. I don't plan on getting much done that week/weekend.

Won't it be a 15 month Celabration?? or 12 month??

I would assume it would be a year (wheter a real year or the disney 15 month year) long celebration for the 50th.

It seems to me that they are already starting to do major refurbishment. We were there the day before yeasterday and Fantasyland looks as though it's getting a major overhaul. The carousel has been almost completely dismantled. All that's left is the bare outside frame. Quite a shock when you walk through the passage underneath the castle. The Storybook Canal has plywood "walls" all around it as well as the Matterhorn. It's a Small World finally got a fresh coat of paint that it was in desperate need of. It doesn't seem like regular refurbishment to me. This seems bigger. It's only 2 years and 9 months away. That's really just around the corner. Maybe there should be a DIS meet then.:)

DanicaW: Your very lucky to be married to a fellow Disney lover. Sounds like a keeper.
