I have noticed that both the hotel rates increase and the parks are staying open later that week. Does anyone know why and/or what is going on? I've checked Spring Breaks for the colleges and universities and that doesn't appear to be it. I know it is St. Pat's week. What am I missing?

Some of Canada. In BC we have it then but when our two weeks are over my sil's two weeks in Manitoba start.

I read that some southern utah districts are out that week too, and they are a big market for DL.

Yep, that week is the official start of the "spring break" season. Spring break hours and prices last about 6 weeks for DL and WDW.

Thanks for your responses, I had a feeling it was that. The next week's calendar is up for the same extended hours, so it must be right. We've still found it a great time to go, as we have celebrated a birthday that week for the last 20 or so years. Even if it rains, it is nice because the locals with passes aren't as likely to come if it is raining. Nearly everything remains open in the rain there anyway.

and Boston Tea Party, I agree. We were lucky enough to be taste testers for Dole when they were coming out with all of those frozen treat products. I always have several when I'm there!
