Disneyland Weddings!!!!

I want to see pictures and hear all of the plans for a wedding that size. I can't even dream of a wedding that big. Tells us more about what you are think of doing for your wedding? How wonderful.

Agreed! One of the things some of the DL brides have complained about from the Planning Journals forum is that there aren't many DL brides doing them. It really helps others get ideas and learn what you have.

I've been reading two journals off and on and it's been fun watching their plans unfold and sharing stories!

150k or more,,,hmmm. Well we have the finances, i just really don't want to go over 200k......we want to have the white doves, the trumpeters, all of it...thanks, i'll look into it.

That is so awesome! If we could get married in the park, I would totally do it. If you can swing it, GO FOR IT!! I hope you do that would be amazing.
I think the thing I like the best is that they do it all! I wont have to worry about plates, napkins , music, dance floor, etc etc. I just want to wear my gown and be the princess you know? who wants to worry about if the flowers showed up,right!

I looked into this for a friend a few years back. You will want to call obviously because this could be out-dated pricing / information but, it used to be:

- wedding in front of the Castle: $110,000 minimum (between wedding & reception at a DL resort hotel).
- only available Sun - Thurs after the park closes

They get to the minimum by adding up the site fee (for getting married in front of the castle) plus reception costs (food, drink, band, etc...) all booked through their on-site vendors.

Some cool extras:
- Cinderella's Coach w/ white horse, two accompanying "servants, " $1,800
- Doves $400
- Trumpeters - 2 = $660, 4 = $1275
- DJ (4 hrs) - $1,295
- Band - $3,400
- Classical String Trio $750
- Harpist $450
- Musicians (pianist, violinist, guitarist) $400
- Singer $300
- Half hour appearance of Mickey and Minnie $1,070 plus tax

It did NOT include park tickets, but they are (were) offered at a discount for guests. I think there were also discounts on hotel rooms and if your guests met a total of a certain $ amount in hotel bookings, bride and groom got a free room for the wedding night. Again, this is probably a low-end idea of pricing, but I thought I'd share.

When I called to check for ours although I called for WDW I spoke to the wedding department. This was nearing 07 not yet 07 I was told it was going to be an extensive amount of red tape to clear. Also strict things that the big wigs would let them know that would not be allowed. She made calls pronto and same day called and informed me the wedding in magic kingdom will START at 500,000. Thats because you have to rent out the park, so uninvited park goers are pretty much kicked out. She was VERY CLEAR that cost was ONLY park rental fee. I do believe during my planning b4 we decided to just get married here n hawaii and honeymoon in WDW there was 1 bride on the wdw wedding section who paid the huge price and did it.

150k is not bad compared to the wedding costs on Platinum Weddings on WE channel. I'd rather be at DL than say...Cabo?

Wow.

We did family and friends at our church-- maybe 125 people?-- (Dad was the pastor there at the time, and he married us) and had cake, coffee and punch in the basement reception hall.

We paid for it ourselves; I was working as a cocktail waitress at Red Robin and I had just graduated from college, living at home so I could afford to put myself through school. This was 1989.

I think the most expensive thing was my gown; I believe I paid about $600 for it, including alterations.

Must be nice to have the wherewithal to do a Disney dream! :)

These prices are out of date. I would double them all and that is a more accurate picture of things when I signed my contract in March. Please, keep us informed of your plans!! Yellow ponchos is correct, we need more DL on the wedding board!!!! :goodvibes
