Disneyland / Walt Disney World - get it right!

Ok, is it just me being a super Disney geek or do other people have the uncontrollable need to correct people when they start talking about Disneyland in Florida?

It happened again just as I woke up this morning and put Radio 1 on. Chris Moyles was talking about his friend being on holiday in Florida and then he started talking about Disneyland (as if this were what it is called there). I started to grumble and my boyfriend was like "yes yes we know"
Hmmmm.... maybe I do this too often but I can't help it!!!

I'm the same, although I will be a bit more lenient with "the general public" but not on websites, tv, radio etc.

It's the same as Eurodisney.. which doesn't exist!! It's Disneyland Paris.

Think I have noticed the difference since recently visiting DL and DLP. It was very confusing when I was researching Disneyland. I went on a web site which said Disneyland and it was actually WDW info

I hate it when people call WDW Disneyland!! A couple of weeks ago I was talking to someone and I said that I was going to WDW for Christmas and she replied how nice to be at Disneyland for Xmas, I corrected her that actually WDW is in Florida and California is Disneyland and she told me that WDW and Disneyland are the same thing and are both in Florida! She wouldnt have it and kept on insisting that there is no Disney park in Cailifornia!!

Drives me nuts. My mum still calls WDW Disneyland even though she's been twice, she even did it whilst we were there!

I so agree Nat - my DSIL went last year and refused to plan, she has now said she will never go back !

I think you might find its now called Disneyland Resort Paris.......

I ask a Travel agent if they had any brochure with disneyland in and she gave me WDW ones and starts talking about hotel on I drive.

people who say eurodisney gets on my nerves, I always say there is no such place.

I don't mind it when people who have never been or know little about Disney mix up WDW and DL, but it annoys me intensley when newspapers and the media in general get it wrong. If they can't do enough research to get that right - what the heck else do they get wrong?

There is having a keen interest in something ... but if you take it too far you become a "trainspotter".

Does it really matter if they WDW Disneyland or the one in France EuroDisney?
