Disneyland update

I hope Sara will indulge me here since this is news.
I can confirm the following rumors.


1: There is a new Snake in Indy as of this week. It is more articulated, it looks better and is a bit more scary. There's also a little surprise which I won't reveal here.

2: The Smith and Wessons are back on the DL Jungle Cruise. standard prop guns firing blanks. They shoot them in the Hippo pool again. You can hear them from the train.

3: The fireworks show has been cut in half. Because of the refurb on the MAtterhorn, Tinkerbell can't fly so they've cut about half the show. It's been this way since Laborday. However last night they also didn't have MOST (but not all) of the Castle shots. I assume this is due to the castle refurb. "It's terrible compared to the real show.



OTher then that it was a gay old day at Disneyland.

Yay about the snake. It's been driving me nuts that the snake in there has just been sitting there not doing anything.

I'm not so happy about the guns being back on the Jungle Cruise. I'm pretty much anti-gun, so I was thrilled when they took them off. Don't think I'll enjoy the ride so much now.

When I saw the fireworks a couple weeks ago, I thought they seemed shorter.

My understanding from reading a thread on Mouseinfo is that they are shooting the guns "in the air" not "at" the Hippos. As I stated there. I am not sure how I feel about the guns. I honestly do not see a need for the guns.

Look, you're on a late 19th early 20th Century Adventure on the jungle rivers of the world. The Jungle guides had guns.

Disney for once decided that being realistic is better then being PC.

Well, if we're gonna be realistic rather than PC, can they change POTC back and have the pirates chasing the women rather than food? At least they are only firing the guns in the air.

They should do that too.

That one is really stupid Let's see, what do you see right before those scenes? A bride auction.

But men chasing women is offensive. I don't get it.

I think I saw Nov 23 for the Matterhorn to reopen. Strangely enough the day before that (haven't checked for the 23rd) DL opens at 8 and closes at 11. I know it's Thankgiving week and more and more schools are starting to just take the whole week off (one of the districts in my area does as does CSUF), but they don't usually open that early and stay open that late on a fall Monday.

I agree, sometime in november. They're pulling out all the track for this refurb, so it's fairly extensive.


I don't remember when the shrouds are being removed from the Castle either, but I think that may be november as well.
