Wondering if anyone has taken a LA/Hollywood/Beach tour from the Disneyland Hotel before. Which companies are good??

Thanks!

You can contact the DLH to find out which company/ies they recommend and if they offer any kind of discount if the tour is booked through the hotel.

Havent done any LA tours from Anaheim, but did Anaheim to San Diego .. and we used All Anaheim tours.. they picked up from our hotel. took to central bus depot., did the trip there and back and we had a great time.. the bus driver on both trips was funny , gave some local information of the areas we were passing and a good driver..

I haven't gone yet, but have a reservation made with Anaheim Tour Company for one of their all day trips at the end of April. I decided to go with them because they have excellent reviews and their tours are kept to a small number of people. I think he said the one we are scheduled for is a max of 8.

I also have a tour booked with Anaheim Tour Company, their tours look good, they go to places others don't and have small groups. Excellent reviews too.

FYI, All Anaheim Tours is a reseller, and doesn't offer their own tours.

Alas, Gray Line has exited the tour market (which Disney used).

For a Beach Tour, I would go with the Anaheim Tour Company, small and good service, tell Tom the owner I sent you for the special non-discounted rate ;)

As for Universal, my personal preference is do it yourself using public transit including the AMTRAK Train.

Otherwise I would also use Anaheim Tour, or Starline Tours is another option. (They are based in Hollywood, but have a daily pick up bus in Anaheim.)

Thanks everyone, yes Anaheim Tour Company is the one I am leaning towards as well.

Would you be able to tell me how to use public transportation to get to Universal from Renaissance Los Angeles Hotel? To get there in time for the HP early entry, is public transportation do-able or should I stick with Uber?

Be sure also to do a search on Kayak.com or other search site on what a rental car would cost. Just pulled up a random day and cars can go for $19/day from DL branches...even factoring in parking and fuel the convince of your own schedule may be well worth it and most overlook this option only to spend more on another more restrictive transportation option.

LAX Airports are not a good base, and I would definitely use Uber/Lyft to get their for Early Entry, don't forget you need about 30 minutes before opening to deal with the security check and getting in line.

You could use Starline Tours, but you won't get to Universal until the late morning.

As for true public transit, Hotel Shuttle to LAX, take the free G shuttle to the Green Line Metro Rail station, take the Green Line to the Blue Line and then the Red Line to Universal City, walk across the street and take the free shuttle up the hill to the Security Check area. Way too many transfers and time.

I am looking into booking a LA tour for our trip in June. I have looked into anaheim tour company and starline tours. Any thoughts on either of these? Which tour is best? There seem to be so many

Starline Tours is a large company based in Hollywood, great if you are staying there.

Anaheim was an afterthought for them, they have done many things to try and expand. Currently the system is to run a daily bus from Anaheim to Hollywood to transfer to their main tours. It works, but not the best.

The Anaheim Tour Company is a small local company that has also has its up and downs in trying to figure out how to make the business work in town. IMHO, currently they have settled intoa good groove until Gray Line closed. They now face a large challenge to expand to help replace what Gray Line gave up.

I would contact Anaheim Tour Company and see how they deal with your questions, and get a feel of the staff.

Wow. I'm glad I asked! That IS too many transfers and time. Uber it is then. Thank you. And yes, I did forget about extra time for security. Thanks.
