Disneyland tickets/ WDW parkhoppers

If WDW tickets can be used at Disneyland, and I am going to WDW next January, could I buy a 10 day parkhopper no expire from WDW, use some days this summer at DL and then use the rest at WDW?

Tehnically, I already have 3 adult parkhppers with one day remaining from years gone by, so I don't really need to do this. It would put me ahead next January, though!

We are in a similar situation so I am wondering the same thing. We are going to DCA for one day in March and then are going for several days to WDW in November. I would like to be able to purchase 4 or 5 day hoppers and use one day at DCA and then use the rest at WDW. Anybody know if you can do this?

Yes....I was there over Christmas with WDW park tickets....all I had to do was go to the front entrance and they will scan your ticket. However, because it was for WDW and Not DL...a customer service agent had to come over and special assist me with my ticket, which meant....I had to stand there as other people with reg. DL tickets go thru the turn stile. It only took a couple minutes out of my time then the cs agent came back and handed me a DL ticket. You should see all the smirks on folks faces thinking that I had bought a bad ticket and was trying to fool DL folks. I did not care, I knew that my ticket was good and was already warned this was going to happen to me when I called up DL to confirm.

FYI...WDW to DL tickets is ok ...but not the other way around, since WDW tickets cost more then DL. So don't expect to trade DL tickets for DW.

You could always go to a Disney store and buy WDW 10 park hoppers with no expiration or from another reputable vendor and then use them for both your trips!

Just a quick word of warning.....there has been discussion around here lately about this.
Each and every day you have to do the park days. You are not able to do them for the entire length of stay.
You will not get any early entry benefits.
You must have park hopper on the WDW tickets to be able to get hopper at DL resort.
Not all CM's understand/know about this and you may have to escalate it.

Make sure you do the math before you committ, though. If you purchase a 10 day non-expir. WDW from Ticket Mania, cost currently is 395/363. So, it works out to 39.50 and 36.30 per day. I think that's about as cheap as you're going to get, but I've heard that sometimes it's not the cheapest way to go.

Yes, WDW tickets (or unused days on WDW tickets) can be exchanged for DL tickets. In other words, you give them your WDW tickets and they give you "NEW" DL tickets.

BUT...DL tickets (or unused days on DL tickets) cannot be exchanged for WDW tickets.

Once you exchange your WDW tickets for DL tickets, that's it. There's no exchanging back to WDW tickets.

That's my understanding of how it works anyway. I hope I explained this in a way that makes sense.

No, you can't do this. (Read my above post)

It would only work if you visited WDW first (in the summer), and then visited Disneyland in January.

Well, then, back to the original plan of using my old passports. It would end up cheaper, and then just by MYW tickets in January at WDW.

Can you use a WDW annual pass for entry into DL?

Sorry no. You would think that Disney would come up with such a ticket but I'm sure if they did it would be several hundreds dollars more then what it is now. I have a premier pass to DW and would have love to be able to use it at DL this past Christmas.

The way it was explained to me over the phone, called DLR, after you swipe your WDW card, CS takes your WDW ticket and then takes one day off your WDW ticket, electronically, then you will be provided with a one day DL ticket, you retain your original WDW media. This is the reason you will have to go through this procedure each day.

Well, if they can just take off one day at a time from your WDW tickets, provide you with new DL tickets, and also let you retain your original WDW tickets with the remaining days for later use at WDW, then I guess it would work, but I've never heard of this happening before. Anyone that I've known who used WDW tickets and exchanged them for DL tickets never got their WDW tickets back, but maybe that's because they were using up ALL of the remaining days left on their WDW tickets?

Wow - where can I call to confirm this? We are going to DL in late July and WDW in late August. I would buy extra days on my WDW Park hopper if this could be done. I am assuming I would have to add the no expiry option though

OK - I called Guest Services at DL today and they told me that it could be done - that you can take a day off your WDW park hoppers and keep the rest intact for WDW. The CM even gave me the number to tickets and reservations to confirm what he said and the CM there said yes - you just need to go to the ticket window for the transaction to be completed and a DL ticket to be issued.
