Hi!

I am going to be in Long Beach in October for a Girl Scout convention and was thinking of adding a few days to visit Disneyland.

I have been reading the ticket options and I am so confused!

I am thinking about going to California on a Sunday and I would have Sunday afternoon, Monday, Tuesday and Wed morning for the parks. Any idea what the hours might be for October?

It actually looks like it might not be a bad idea to purchase the Deluxe annual pass. I could not find any blackout days in October. What do you think? Do they give a Disney Club discount on this pass.

Also, after getting a quote of $195 for Paradise Pier I am leaning towards an offsite hotel. However, I am willing to reconsider if I could get an AP rate at the hotel. What do you thin?

Thanks for any help! I am really good at Disney World, but I spent 1 day at Disneyland one time and did a really bad job of seeing it.

Okay, just an educated guess, but this is what I'm guessing at hours for October:

Sunday DL 9AM - 10PM, DCA 10AM - 8PM
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday DL 9AM-8PM, DCA 10A-6PM

I'd vote for staying off property.

With the 4 day park hopper pass costing $141, the Deluxe AP may be a better deal. Not sure what the DC discount will get you, but even a $10 discount would get you down to $149 from the $159 price tag. Plus AP holders get discounts at some restaurants that parkhopper holders won't get.

Your right that Oct has no blackout dates for deluxe or premium AP holders.

I was there last October (we stayed at GC with the Fall Getaway package with DC discount, 4 nights for the price of 3).

I think ivanova's guesstimate about park hours is what we experienced. The crowds are pretty light, so the wait in lines should be minimal. The only thing we used FastPass for was Soarin' Over CA in DCA, which had the longest lines.

Maybe what you could do is book an offsite hotel for now, so that you have something in place, that has a good cancellation policy where you can cancel up to a few days in advance. Then, keep checking rates at the on site hotels. Sometimes Travelocity and Expedia have really good rates, but they show up only a few weeks ahead of time. The best rate I recall seeing last year was $120 at PP.

Good luck!

We went last Oct. and it was GREAT!!!! Perfect weather, no lines. Of course, lines and crowds may have been affected somewhat by 9/11! We used a travel agency online that had some SUPER deals. Check them out at www.getawaytoday.org in fact, this was a spur of the moment trip because I found this website and couldn't believe the great prices. I just couldn't pass them up. Be sure to try to get in the parade if you can! We had the time of our lives when we did it, plus you get a special pin at the end!!!;)

I am so excited to hear that October will be a good time. My family of three will be traveling there in early October this year. Our FIRST trip to DL.

Thanks everyone!

Right now I am leaning towards off site. It looks pretty easy to get around. I am wavering between the Candy Cane Inn and Anabella. THe Anabella has a stay 2 get a third night free on Travel Hero.

I will go over and check out the other websites recommended and just keep watching!

After doing some more research I have booked the Candy Cane Inn. My decision on an AP will be made on if I can get a discounted hotel. I am afraid that I will not be able to be at the Parks much on the last day so if I don't get a discounted room, I will probably go with the 3 day hopper.

Thanks for your help!

CarolA Good Choice with the Candy Cane Inn, you will enjoy it. Now if only you could speed up that count down clock lol.

October is never a problem - I make it a point to go every year, as it is my birthday month. (If you see a girl with a Happy Birthday Sticker that says "Tina" 22! Then say Hi! Unless of course they look at you strange, in which case you should try to walk away without causing embarassment. ;)) hehe. It is very light in crowds, although it may have some refurbs. Check those before you let anyone get their hearts set on a specific attraction.

Have a great time.
