My question is in regards to table service/sit down meals that you order from a menu. Not buffets or the preset packages. My 13 year old is tiny and not a big eater, also, not seeing much on the adult menus that would appeal to her. Can she possibly order from the kids menu? Or could she and I split something like the 3 piece fried chicken meal I saw on a couple menus? Not concerned so much with cost, just hate to waste that much food.

We aren't huge eaters in the parks anyway but would like to do one nice sit down meal.

Thanks!

Yes, we have been doing this for 16 years and it's no problem at all (excluding character meals or buffets of course). We have never been questioned or charged extra at any time.

Have a great trip!

That's going to vary depending on the venue.

OP, which restaurants are you talking about?

Definitely won't work at any character meals. Some TS restaurants will allow her to order double the child meal at double the price.

Yes, I know it won't work at character meals and buffets. We are looking at something more like The Carnation Cafe, Blue Bayou, Plaza Inn type.

Thank you all!!!!

This is our first trip to the west coast and we are so excited! Have been to WDW many times and they have always been wonderful. We've done the character and princess meals there so the character meals on this trip just isn't a big priority. We have three days in the parks there and want to get the most out of our time.

Plaza Inn and Carnation Café won't be a problem at all. My young teen daughter was not allowed to order from the kids' menu at BB. You can split a meal at BB. Or you can pay a split meal charge so you both get soup and sides.

Plaza Inn is counter service for lunch and dinner. She can order anything she wants there.

My DD16 ordered from the kids' menu several times this past week, including at BB, and was never questioned. Ironically, DD12 ordered an "adult portion" of Mac and Cheese at BB (and was given it) at the same meal DD16 ordered off the kids' menu. :)

DD16 was also able to get the light-up sipper at WoC Dessert Party when she ordered it along with DD12.
