Seeking for Disneyland ride specific tips from DLR veterans.

For example, been told many times when in the Pirates of the Caribbean que, stick the the right side when the que splits. As the que line on the right side moves a little bit faster.

Another one I've been told, when riding on Splash Mountain and if you don't want to get wet as much, is to sit towards the back as the front gets a lot more wet.

Do any Disneyland veterans have any more recommendations or tip. Maybe about sitting the front or back on certain rides for a better experience (like sitting towards the front in the Matterhorn is easier on your back then sitting in the back)?

What are some of your favorite ride specific tips to recommend?

Just went on Haunted Mansion yesterday. Not that much of a difference but when you're in the que, stick to the right side when it splits. Before going into the mansion's wrap-around porch, the left que has to go through a small loopy-loop whereas the right side just went right in.

My daughter hates riding on the inside of the Space Mountain car. That's the side where you tend to get squished going around corners so we put parents on the inside and kids on the outside.

On Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters, the two cars that get to dance in the middle are pre-determined by the loading formation.
During loading all of the cars are arranged in a grid in two large groups (left group and right group).
The two cars that get to dance in the middle are: Middle car in the back row (furthest from loading gates) on the left group, and the leftmost car in the back row of the right group.
So if you scurry to those cars before anyone else you get the best ride :P

How did you even figure this out? lol

The goat trick on BTMMR. When you get to the top of the first rise, there’s a goat chewing on a stick of dynamite on your right. The ride drops and swoops around to the right, and people say that if you keep your eyes on the goat, it feels more intense. I don’t know that it’s really that noticeable; I’ve tried it plenty- but some people swear by it. 😀

Totally going to try this. Might make me sick but still sounds like fun!

Just curious - what makes it the best ride?

Jungle Cruise - stay on the right side of the stairs when coming down to load on the dock side of the boat. This side has more 'features' to see along the cruise. ROTR - the front shuttle and second shuttle have different experiences/paths. Do both but we prefer to try to be in the first shuttle. I believe that is the blue and red markers. On all rides, I try to always go on the right path as it usually has a little less line because usually the DAS loads on the left. However, if the right is disproportionately longer, go to the other side.

oh and on Star Tours, to get better chances to picked as rebel spy, sit down and buckle quickly. Do not put on glasses or fidget. Stare straight ahead with neutral expression until the ride starts. Better to be in the middle or further back rows.

Big Thunder is way better in the back cars. The front always feels like you are waiting for the action!!!

We did this twice last week and discovered a new twist that might make a difference - now, they're letting people into the queue on the right-hand side near the building entrance. I assume they were DAS returners, but I don't really know. This does seem to slow the right side queue down a bit. I don't know whether it's now slower than the left side as a result, but it is slower than it was before.

Tons of great info, appreciate all the feedback. Looking forward to giving them all a try at the end of the month when we visit.

Strangely, I'm looking forward to the most is the Goat Trick on BTMRR! LOL

BTMRR is amazing during the fireworks if you time it right. And if you're there when Fantasmic is back up and running, if you don't watch the show or move towards the end of the show, go over by the Hungry Bear Restaurant along the river by where the bathrooms are. When the Mark Twain comes by for after the finale of Fantasmic, all the characters wave to you. Most of the time there are very few people hanging out there so it makes it a little more special.
