I would greatly appreciate any help with the following situation.....Trying to decide between DL, GC or PP for an almost last minute planned Christmas trip. Have ressies for Grand Californian, but don't know if that is the right choice. We have stayed at WL - I liked it, but my teen wasn't crazy about it. I understand that GC is like WL with an art deco twist. We like art deco. I was thinking about PP, but heard that it wasn't very Disney in theming? Now I'm starting to think about DL (have stayed there before)- I don't think this quandry ever ends until checkin. I would probably stay offsite for the $$, however over Christmas I am banking on the guaranteed park admission of ultimate hopper. Comments please.

I am partial to GC (I also love WL) as I just came back from a 4-day trip from there and absolutely loved everything about it! When I walked into the lobby, I could just imagine a huge Christmas tree there, as I experienced at WL. The grounds were beautiful too, and we had a theme-park view which we enjoyed. We decided we would've been happy with any view though.

I've never seen a PP room, but wasn't too crazy about the hotel itself. It seemed sort of "sterile" for lack of a better word. I've heard the rooms are the largest though, and it is convenient to DCA.

I stayed at DLH a few years ago and liked it, but still not as much as I liked GC. I just feel that GC is the most "Disney" and I liked the cozy feeling of it. I wrote an extensive trip report on the trip report board if you're interested in more detail of GC.

If the only reason you are staying on site is because of "gaurenteed" entry, save your money :-)
From my understanding, as long as you have entered the park at any point in the day you are garenteed same-day reentry.

I haven't stayed at the GC, but it is lovely. I have stayed at the WL, this has a similar feel on the inside,, but outside it is much busier. I am quite partial to the DLH, have stayed there about 3 times now. It has the coolest pool, and the best monorail access. I have stayed at PP about 4 times now, and I would only go there if there was an incredibly cheap rate, or the others were booked. While I love the view and the rooms are nice on the park side, it is noisy, and the single-pane windows are drafty when it is cold outside. The back-side has a parking sttructure view. Nice hotel, but not as great as DLH.

Keep in mind that we are WDW people normally, but just got back from 4 nights at PP. Its fine - clean, rooms are large, but if you are used to WDW atmosphere it was definitely lacking. We stooped in GC for a beer and for that brief minute finally felt like we were at a disney resort.

Paradise Pier has a somewhat convenient private entrance to CA, but the only way to DL is a very long walk around the back of the building and thru DD. I think you may be able to cut the GC somehow, but I don't think it was that much shorter. So for convenience sake GC has it made!

Another thing we noticed at PP was that the plumbing system was less than powerful - the toilet hardly flushed. We also had a connecting room and could hear the other room party loud and clear.
