Disneyland Resort. . .a trip report of sorts. . .or a primer for WDW vets

Great Trip Report!! You have reminded me of some of the differences compared to MK.:goodvibes

I really want to ride Mr Toad...probally more than once since its not at WDW which is much closer to me.

Hmmm Friday must be a good day for the Parks...since neither had much of a line...we shall see if that holds true in Oct.

This is great Darcy! We're going to DL for the first time in October, so this is exactly what I need to help plan. :thumbsup2

Can't wait for more!

Actually, Saturday was the better day. . .but under normal circumstances neither Friday nor Saturday are good . . .especially during the summer. . .lol

This was a REAL fluke. . .trust me here. . .

So, when last I left you it was Saturday morning and we have completed Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and now Toon Town. . .So its off to Frontierland from some high falutin hijinx on the high seas (or at least the river. . .lol). So we decide to go get a fastpass for BTMRR. . .and again, no line. . .so we ride.

Here's a scenery shot:

We actually rode this twice cause we like it so much. . .ps, if you like to go fast, always ask for the back rows. . .makes the ride SOOOOOOO much better.

we really like this ride at WDW,,,,back row...got it. Thanks

I'm a DL vet -- have been a million times at least -- but we just got back from our 3rd WDW trip last week. There are so many differences between the two. I like the way you showed how close DL and CA are to each other. About 100 yards away!

I'll be at DL 7/23-25 so I hope the lines are still short then!

JULIE

maybe the crazy high gas prices are keeping people closer to home instead of traveling to the parks???

Love your report and the pictures. We were there last year in July for our very first visit. We were able to get alot done with hardly any waits. We went to DL on a Wednesday, I believe it was. We were staying in Vegas and since I'm such a big Disney fan and we go to DW almost every year my DH said we had to do a day trip to DL. We loved it!!!!

Loving the TR! We have been to WDW numerous times but we will be going to DL for the first time this oct!

Good morning everyone. . .

So when last I left you we had just gone on BTMRR 2 times (cause we could). Then we see that the Mark Twain Steam Ship is getting ready to leave berth so we decide to jump on and take some pics of Shipwreck Cove on Tom Sawyer's Island. The first thing I see is a "real" Captain. . .lol

No sooner had we left the dock when Captain Jack makes an appearance. He also lolled against the fence but I was too enthralled at looking at him to take pictures. . .and my son was busy flirting with some teenaged girl aboard the vessel to notice that I wasn't taking pictures. . .lol

Here are some more pics of the Island. . .

And a few more pictures of the island. . .

Oh, and look who showed up again. . .my, what a sight to behold. . .

D8.jpg

Well, that was the best trip around the Island that I have ever had. . .lol. Lots of great "scenery". . .

Oh and I did spot the Columbia Sailing Ship when I was making my journey around the island as well. . .

I am surprised however that they haven't redecorated and renamed it the black pearl. . .lol

Its at this point in time where the details of the trip report get a little fuzzy. . .you see, this is the point in time where we begin crisscrossing between the two parks cause we can and I get lost as to the "chronological order of the trip" and so, will instead lead you on a tour of the parks rather than our trip. . .hope you don't mind. . .

After we make berth, we decide to head to our favorite area of the park. . .the areas that hold, The Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain. . .(this actually is three "lands". . .Adventureland, New Orleans Square and Critter Country).

Since The Jungle Cruise is very nearly the same as the one at WDW, we didn't take pics there. . .Instead opting for the Indiana Jones Adventure. . .

Then its off to Pirates. . .

Here are several pics of Pirates of the Carribean. . .Notice the "Disney Dream Suite" icon in blue and gold above the entrance of Pirates. . .

Just one more slide and I will move on to California Adventure. . .

Okay, since Brandon and I were having an easy time with the rides we decided to see as many shows as we can. One show we had never seen because its new is Indiana Jones and the Secrets of the Stone Tiger. . .Its housed in the same theatre that used to house Alladin and Jasmin's Storytime. They really get the kids involved like they did with Alladin and Jasmine and I am sure it really appeals to these young kids, but my son and I thought it kinda lame. . .but hey, it was fun. . .

Here are the pics. . .

There are more pics. . . but you get the general gist. . .

Well, I will leave you here today. . .When next I return it is off to California Adventure. . .Be prepared for fun. . .
