Cool picture! Just as a side note, I was looking at your pictures you posted on your website, and to my surprise, I saw my DW in one! It's a picture of the crowd standing in line for MM. What a small world. Or I should say "It's a Small World". That would be more appropriate for the DIS boards.

Thanks, IASWAM! Wow, that's pretty cool. I remember that you guys were going the same time we were and I recall looking for you. I guess I probably saw you and your DW and never even knew it. :sad2:

OMG!

That's so funny that somebody saw their DW in a pic on Nostalgic Dad's site!

:lmao:

That cracks me up!

Also, that was a great photo of the (what's his name, anyway) black scary guy from fantasmic! Was that yours Robert TG?

I have never seen the Halloween decorations but I had NO idea how big they were until I saw that pic with the person standing there! Wow, that really puts it into perspective! Nice shot!

Thanks. I had read a thread the other day where someone was asking if all of the pumpkins that were decorating Main Street were real. Of course we all know they couldn't be, since a carved pumpkin only lasts for 2 days (at best) in this climate before it turns into a gooey rotten mess. Let me tell you, when I went down Main Street, OMG - I had to really look twice! They did such a phenomenal job and those pumpkins were of such high quality that they really did look real! Here are a couple photos to prove it!

I'm loving all of the pumpkin and candycorn pictures. We are going to be seeing them in person for the first time next week . Yay!:yay:

I also wanted to post, that somewhere I had read that the real carved pumpkins, have diluted white glue over them to make them last longer. Has anyone else ever heard of that?

I hadn't heard that, but there are several of the same carved pumpkins in the Woody's Halloween Roundup (Big Thunder Ranch) area that are right there for you to touch. They aren't real. They are just a much higher grade of carvable pumpkin (kind of like what you get at Michaels) that are hollow with consistent wall thickness.

I touched. I had to!

There are real carved pumpkins @ Woody's Halloween Roundup. Are you sure you touched the right ones? There was one of the Queen of Hearts that they carved on Monday. I went on Thursday and since it had been a couple of days, bugs started to hang around it. So there are real pumpkins, you just have to find the right ones.

When you get home it feels like you should have taken more.

NostalgicDad, your Friday fireworks photo is amazing. The clarity and resolution is simply stunning!

YellowMickeyPonchos, thanks for the continuing tour of the DL pumpkins! :)

Here is an extremely lucky shot of the Tower of Terror. Not only was there a full moon out, but one set of elevator doors opened and the ride cameras flashed at just the right time.

I know about those - I posted the Wall-E a couple pages back. I even have another one today. The thread that asked if the pumpkins were real referred to all of the ones on Main Street and some of the ones around the Round-Up stage. They do look more real than your average "fake pumpkin". The technology to mold those things has gotten way better. Those even have "growth dents" like real pumpkins.

Today's photo is one of the cooler real pumpkins from the carver. She does a lot of her carving by cutting into the flesh and not exposing the main cavity. Slows the rot down and allows the flesh to dry out. Not exposing them to candle heat, helps too.

Looking at this photo and seeing this up close, not sure how they kept the squash feet so "fresh" looking. They didn't look like they had a coat of anything on them. You can touch these as well. I would think the glue would add somewhat of a shelac feel. I'll have to ask when we are down there next weekend.

Very nice - that is a rare shot. Proves that timing is everything!

Here is the Hungry Bear restaurant sitting on the lower level where you can watch the ships roll by.

It's such a small world isn't it YelloMickeyPonchos!!!!?????
Why did you guys move out to Burbank, CA?

We love California. Would love to move out there but am afraid the cost of living compared to here would be too much.
