Nice one! How did you capture this photo? I tried so many times on my last trip and it always came out blurred or if it came out was at the wrong angle so you couldn't really see his face. Can you share your Exif Data? Thanks! Pirates is one of my absolute favorite rides!
I'm glad you liked it. Taking pictures without a flash in the dark rides is a real big problem. The combination of lack of light and motion give lots of blurry photos. The camera used was a Panasonic Lumix DCM T21 ...basically a point and shoot camera. It does have a "High Sensitivity mode" which I used for the low light conditions. This gave the camera an ISO 1600. I lost a lot of image quality to gain a low light image, but at least I had an image, and then I use the microsoft photo editor to try and enhance the photo. Still the scenes with the most light come out the best.
Motion is another problem, my solution was to take lots of photos, in the hope of getting some that are not blurred. I rode the ride five or six times (it's my favorite too) and took about 350 photo's, a small number came out OK, most a blurr.
The back seat of the ride allows you to turn around to take a photo without being in someones face and get another try at a photo from a different angle.
Here is one that came out OK. raw image and the second after I tried to enhance the image.

Adjustment with Microsoft editor

Now if you want a real challenge try and get a photo inside the Indiana Jones ride!
