We have been to Disney World multiple times, but are planning on making the trip to Anaheim for the first time next spring.

Just wondering if it is common to have package deals/discount similar to WDW or if I will end up paying full price.

Thanks in advance.:thumbsup2

I posted about this earlier today. It seems like they have package deals mostly in the fall and winter. If you are staying longer than 3 days on site the best deal seems to be buying an AP (it's like 265 for the one with blacked out days) and getting an AP discount for the room. Their is a ticket discount until April (I think) that adults pay the kids price which is about $40 less on a few days ticket. AAA rate seems to only be about 10% off. We ended up going with a package deal on costco.com that includes a free character meal, $150 gift card if you stay on property or buy 3 get 1 free night at a good neighbor hotel, and includes the discounted tickets. It was very close to even with the AP rate and that deal but one of the nights there was no AP rate available. We go to WDW every year and I'm finding this DL stuff to be very complicated though I gues WDW was at first too ;)

Many DL vets on here recommend pricing out your air, hotel and tickets separately before buying a package. Often you can save hundreds or even over a thousand dollars that way. Some deals are not available through packages... like Howard Johnson's Entertainment book rate: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

On our last trip, we were able to fly into the least expensive airport (LGB), stay at HoJo at the Ent rate, and get tickets through GetAwayToday and came out about $500 cheaper than we would have paid with any package.

On another note, you might find Hydroguy's tips compilation very helpful. He has several threads on there that are guides for WDW vets visiting DL for the first time: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

Hope that helps! :)
