Disneyland Oct 1-3

If anyone is planning a trip to Disneyland Oct 1-3 they should be aware that this is considered the "Gay Day" weekend. Information found on the www.gayday2.com website. To each his own but if you are planning a trip during that time it is something you should be aware of. This tends to be a large group and may or may not go along with what you are planning.

We went during this time in 2002, and what a nice group of people they were! Very friendly, and helped us out when we needed it.

It is a VERY large group, though!

I'll be there that weekend! Never heard one single bad report from a Gay Days event at DL. Supposed to be a really fun time to be there! I can't wait!

Hey, dsnylndmom, we're there until the 1st! Couldn't get a room at the PPH that weekend, though--seems they're all booked up!

We are planning to go to Disneyland from Oct 1-6.

This will be myself and hubby's first time there in 10 years and the first time ever for our kids, ages 2 & 5. My parents are also travelling with us.

We planned this date, thinking that the park would not be as crowded as other times of the year, and thinking the weather wouldn't be as hot.

What exactly does Gay Days entail? Is the park that much more crowded? Any info that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated as we are wondering if we should try to reschedule.

We always leave just as the crowd is arriving, so I'm not sure exactly what this entails, but yes, there are quite a few people who come for this. I know that PPH is completely booked that weekend, because I tried to extend my stay and was unable to.
