We are WDW veterans and debating doing Disneyland next year. What's August like? People say CA isn't humid like FL, but still wondering if it will be too hot for us.

We're think of August 22-26? Is 4/5 nights a good amount of time?

Thanks! Would love any tips!

That is probably our favourite time to go to Disneyland! We've been in August now four times and we might try and squeeze in a trip next August before our AP expires.

For us, the key is to go after many American kids go back to school (ours starts the day after Labour Day) but before the Labour Day weekend crowds show up.

It's hot but not usually humid. It is crowded but not unbearably. If HM is important then keep an eye on when it goes down for the annual NBC overlay, same with Space Mountain's GG overlay.

As you can see by my signature, we go a few times a year but we still feel as though 4-5 days is a perfect length of time given our touring style.

We just went at around that time this year we started our trip at WDW then went onto DL we found it very nice weather compared to what we had at WDW and basically when school was back on the weekdays were quiet got busy in the arvos when passes unblocked

We're going Aug 20-26 next year. It'll be our third time going at the end of August and I think it's a great time to go! I like that I don't have to pull my kids out of school because in BC we don't go back till after labour day. We went last year at the end of August (24-29) as well and although it felt crowded the lines were manageable and the weather was beautiful!! It is hot but we don't mind the heat so much. FYI the Haunted Mansion was closed last year for the fall overlay so that's something to keep in mind if that ride is a must do for you. Hyperspace Mountain was up and running though. Happy planning!!

We went August 29th through September 2nd this year. Crowds were really manageable. I'd say the only downside was that the HM was down for the Halloween overlay.

Temps were between 85 and 95 most days and actually a little humid a couple of days but certainly not FL humid!

We're coming around same time as you in August but one week later (Aug 28-31) for same reason. We loved our WDW trip but we aren't going to pull our kids out of school anymore and picked Disneyland over WDW for the weather. I.e.no humidity and no rain... Although hot. We just booked our hotel. As others have said I'm sad that Haunted Mansion will be closed as DD and I love that ride at WDW but it's the week that worked best.

Thanks! Too hot is 90s for us! Can deal with 80s for sure!

If 90s are too hot you'll have problems in August it can routinely be 90-100 although with very low humidity.

It can be very hot and the last couple of years, our hot days have lasted longer than normal. I went to DCA for one day in the middle of August and it was in the 90's. We got really tired from walking around, but were able to cool off by going into the theaters and having drinks in Carthay Circle lounge. At the end of the day, my daughter said let's not do anything like this again when it is in the 90's.

Her birthday is at the end of September and we went to Universal Studios. It was 100 degrees that day. I'm not sure you can plan for August, Sept or Oct to be lower than 90 degrees. Of course, there are many days that are lower, but you cannot plan for that to happen weeks or months out in advance.

We were there in early-mid August last year, and we had terrific weather (80s, low 90s) until our last day, when it hit 96. Later in the week, after we left, it went over 100. It's hard to say what the weather is going to be any given summer week. This year, we were there the last week of June - we were supposed to hit triple digits two weeks out, but then the forecast changed and the highest we got were mid-90s. That's still pretty warm to be outside, even if you're from Phoenix, as we are.

I think it will be a good time crowd wise. Potentially an amazingly low crowd time. Most folks within driving distance will be back in school (I can't think of anyone who will still be out within driving distance). Weather wise, you just never know. I will tell you, from past experience, 90's is pretty uncomfortable with all the concrete and very little shade. Personally, I would take my chances with the weather. Especially if you did 5 nights total and took afternoon breaks and maybe did a beach day.

Many area schools go back either the 16th or 23rd, but it will be hot, most likely. I would say late June is a better time to go, both crowd and weather wise. Our hottest months tend to be Aug-Sept-Oct. Once the Southern California APs get blocked out in June, crowds are not bad.

The end of August is probably around the hottest time of the year but it's usually not humid, although it can be. But temperatures are often in the mid 90s to low 100s. And if the Santa Ana winds are blowing it is very uncomfortable. Especially if you have allergies.

Crowd-wise: great!
Weather-wise: potential to be Hot!
Haunted Mansion-wise: poor since its usually closed for halloween switch over

I went for the very first time at the end of august for my graduation present. I was expecting it to be very crowded since it was also the end of the 60th. I was pleasantly surprised! The weather was 75-80s and crowds seemed pretty low. Longest I waited for a ride was 15 mins. (Peter Pan) i got to ride everything in both parks at least once some more than that. While I was there I discovered most schools had just started so that maybe why crowds weren't as bad as I expected. When I left they shut down haunted mansion for the layover. Super happy I didn't miss it. It's my favorite ride in WDW. I think going at the end of august is a pretty good time to go from my own personal experience
