Disneyland movie?

I just read that John Favearu is leaving Iron Man 3 to direct Magic Kingdom which will be a family movie kind of like Night at The museum but the Disney park comes to life. If it can make it through production hell then I will be a very happy person. Can you imagine seeing Pirtes, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, BTMRR, and Matterhorn coming to life at night.

Oh and here's one of the articles as well as the director even mentioning himself on his own Twitter account. So a Disney theme park movie is TRUE but, some articles say Magic Kingdom Florida and some say Disneyland sooo guess we won't know for a while

That's what I was trying to figure out. I was guessing it might be from reading what little I could find about the movie and comparing it to the descriptions of the books. I can't find anything online that definitively says it is or isn't kingdom keepers though. I hope it's interesting, whatever it turns out to be.

I think the movie will be awesome regardless of location...any Disney movie is okay by me!

No one knows FOR SURE where the movie is based, whether its DW or DL so for now it seems safe to leave it here...since DL is one of the possibilities, but then again its up to the moderator to decide?!?!

Hey if it does as well as the first night at the museum then they will do a sequel so maybe there will be a chance for both parks...then DCA and AK etc etc

And for something like this... I, for one, don't really care if it's DL or WDW. It's fun to learn about and get excited about. It's DISNEY!

But hey, Magic Kingdom doesn't necessarily have to mean WDW. DLR is described as Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom, and it's even used in the announcements for the Disneyland Railroad

I guess only time will tell.

My kids hope a movie is based on the Kingdom Keeper books. If it is, I sure hope they use Wayne as one of the characters. I haven't read the books, but understand that in the books, Wayne is a cast member that lives above the fire station and helps the kids. The book character is based on a real man named Wayne that is a senior cast member at the Magic Kingdom/WDW.

We were being loaded onto Splash Mountain in January 2009, when my DS14 spotted an older gentleman/cast member with the nametag of "Wayne". My son then asked the cm if he knew of the Kingdom Keepers books and Wayne got a big grin on his face. He had been spotted ... and you could see that it warmed his heart. We chatted for the minute or so that we could before the ride took off, but Wayne mentioned that he knew Ridley Pearson and had been interviewed several times for the book's content. He asked our kids what they thought of it and said that it was rare that people made the connection. Which, of course, THRILLED my son!

Wayne must be way past retirement age, but if I were to guess, I think that he probably stays with his job because he loves it. He said that he had been worked in the parks (maybe DL too?) for a long time and knew Mr. Disney.

It was very sweet and heartwarming. A magical moment to be sure!

After the ride, we returned again to hope to chat some more ... but, poof! he was gone!
