3pm - various DISers --- pick the place :-)

Dinner at Downtown Disney

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen - 6:00 PM
Need to know total number of people so we can make PS (714) 776-5200

The Jazz Kitchen features homemade gumbo, seafood, pasta, and Cajun-style chicken. After 8pm, nightlife starts at the 120-seat Flambeaux Room, which features local musicians playing New Orleans jazz. There's dining downstairs, and fine dining upstairs.

Reservation for 14 for 6pm has been made (I couldn't get it for 6:30). The ressie is under the name, CATHY CANADA. :)

So far, we have: 14 Teri, MA, & Marc, Michelle, CC, TLK, Dayna (DumboOrBust), Tia (luvdisney), Tammy, Barb, BobBrazeal, MaryJo, Nick, Kelly

Of course, everyone is invited, however, the largest group they can accommodate is 14.

Saturday

7:30 Breakfast at La Brea Bakery (located in Downtown Disney, right next to the entrance to DCA. Features bagels, hot cereal, quiche, etc.

8:30 Meet at the Flag Pole in Town Square (Tammy, I think you & I will actually do it this time ;) ). This is a bring your own corn meet & picture taking. From here, whoever wants to ride on rides together can do so (recommended getting fastpass for Indy right away)

11:00 Lunch Meet

Riverbelle Terrace at Frontierland, overlooking Rivers of America, & featuring club sandwiches, veggie stew in a bread bowl, or burgers (you can get these next door at Stage Door Cafe)

Afterwards, go on rides. It's recommended that fastpass for Soaring Over CA be obtained as early as possible.

2:30PM Power of Blast 3:00 show at the Hyperion Theater at DCA (We have to know who's going to this so we can get the tickets ahead of time-total # of people.

More Rides

After the park closes, the true diehards can go to Downtown Disney or the Lost Boys Bar at Disneyland Hotel for drinks/coffee. There's also a Denny's across the street from Disneyland.

Those who want something light can grab a muffin/ cinnamon roll/ other pastry, coffee/ hot chocolate, etc., at the Main Street Bakery, and go to the Riverbelle Terrace, and those who want something more hearty like eggs or pancakes can get those at the Riverbelle Terrace. ~ Final decision can be made on Saturday when everyone meets up.

No sleeping allowed! ;)

Of course, if we add it to the itinerary it must be done.

We may also want to think of a meeting place on Friday evening somewhere in Downtown Disney maybe for us early arrivees.

I'm game for anyplace except Rainforest Cafe.

Actually, some of us will be there from Wednesday to Sunday morning. Anyone who is there before the 22nd, please let us know, we can make sure to meet somewhere onsite.

As far as a restaruant in DD for Friday dinnertime, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen has a quick-service take-out with a dining area outside, under an awning -- it is a very nice place to be if the weather is nice. They also have indoor seating in their restaurant. I have done the take out/outside seating here before, and the food was quite good. That would get my vote. If we stay outside, people who don't want to eat could congregate and mingle without having waiters tripping over them. :) Somebody should walk by and see if they think it is suitable. Or if we go inside, we should give it a try and see if it lives up to its reputation as a great combination of creole food and New Orleans jazz.

I am so excited about this. I haven't been to DL since 1997! That was when all the contruction for DCA was just getting started. As far as suggestions, I'm leaving it up to the pros and I'm following the crowd. I'm just thrilled to be going! Also, my flight doesn't leave until Monday morning! Thanks!!

DIS-Con Commando (Ret.) Tia checking in. :D

Arriving Fri. afternoon.....so I'm wide open for dinner on Friday night.....and leaving Monday morning......so I'm wide open ALL day on Saturday and Sunday. :bounce:

I am looking forward to seeing ALL of you. :) :) :) I'll be wearing my Lime Green Ribbon. :bounce:

Well - I gotta be taken off the list of possible attendees. We went with our kids in early January - with 2 in college - there's no way I can spend any $$ to go again that soon!
I expect a full report with details when it's over!!

There are a lot of places I would love to try as far as restaurants go. I always wanted to eat at Blue Bayou. We couldn't eat there because the wait was just too long. The idea of a character meal sounds like great fun to me, too! I (& I think a few others) have a three day park hopper ticket, so we can do the parks for three days. I hope to get as much park time in as possible. :D

Barb, I LOVE the Blue Bayou..... :) :) :) Oh yeah, I can see having a meal in there with you guys.... :) :) :)

Do you really think we could do a meal in there??? :bounce: That would be fun! :bounce: There might be too many of us though. :o

The corn picture is first thing Saturday morning, right? :D

Where is dinner Friday night???

Where is breakfast Sunday morning???

Ed and I had a nice lunch at some Mexican-themed buffeteria last May.....that was really yummy and tucked away~~~but had a lot of space! :)

Okay, I've put my thinking cap on......let it warm up a bit. ;)

I'm getting very excited about this trip. I loooooove California and DL. Steve might have trouble making me get back in the car to go home.

Stevie is getting very excited as well. The last time I was in California I practically had be drug away from the beach. I just love Disneyland and the Pacific Ocean. So we may have to be brave together, Ms. Dayna.

I plan on driving down Friday Afternoon. I will definitley make dinner on Friday. I plan on leaving Sunday afternoon/evening.

For those that are interested, Saturday Feb 23, the Disney Gallery above the Pirates of the Carribean is opening a new exhibit. Eric Robison has created 100 Mickeys in celebration of Walt's birthday.

Here's a link to some information.

http://www.100mickeys.com

The originals will be for sale and you can get printo on demand copies.

:sunny: :sunny: Hey, does anyone want to venture a guess on what the weather will be like on this weekend? :sunny: :sunny:

Sorry to report that I will be unable to come to the Disneyland meet. :( I'm going to have some surgery done (again....), and the doctor has said no travel, no theme parks, no fun for at least 6-8 weeks after the surgery. I believe that Dayna is still coming without me, however.....you guys have fun.

Thats to bad. Now Steve, you listen to your doctor and take it easy. We will be thinking of you ;)

Sending Pixie dust your way to speed you on your recovery.

Oh, Steve... I am so sorry to hear that! I hope that everything goes well for you. My prayers are with you. We will gather some fresh Pixie Dust and send it your way. We will be thinking about you -- make sure that someone has your phone number.

I am afraid that Willy may not make it, either. :( I have been holding off on posting until things are more definite - we are still hoping that he can join us. Sending a little Pixie Dust in his direction as well.
