Oh wow I just caught that about the miles. You are going to be exhausted by the time this is through. And you are going to need a vacation from vacation.
It is going to SUCK!I might be making the first CO drive with just the kids and I as DH might be in NYC. I have driven with them home from Disneyland but don't think I have ever driven for 8 hours alone.
Should be interesting at best.
DH and I chatted for a while during Gab's practice tonight and I promised him I would not be a park commando freak and enjoy some downtime at the resort. He said the GCV are so cool that we need to soak it up, chill by the pool, and relax so I am vowing to take daily, or almost daily, midday breaks.
Looks like Ridemax and I have some more itins to make.![]()
As if you hate playing with the Ridemax.
All of that time in the car and you are gonna hate it.
My DH does not like returning to the room during the day. I am wondering who this doppelganger is.
I am going to HATE driving indeed!
My DH doesn't either persay but he will return to the pool. This morning Chloe told me that I am more than welcome to take a break but she has NO intention and neither will Gabby.Joshua will though.

17 days!!!
That is what my kids are saying too. I have to have a serious talk with DH, our 17 year old daughter does not like rides like GRR and would like to be able to wait by herself while others go on these rides. I think that at 17 she is old enough to go and hang out at the store there or sit on a bench or whatever. He is worried that she is not going to be okay. He needs to let loose a little I think and trust in her judgment. Am I wrong?
Woohoo!!![]()
She is 17? She is totally old enough. Even if she was an immature 17 y/o she will be fine.
I know and her sister will be less than a month out from her 16 birthday. I think he doesn't want to realize that they are almost adults.

Don't tell your DH but we are going to allow my 13 y/o and her BFF some alone time in the parks. There is one way in and one way out. They will be fine.
It has been hard for me to let go of my grip but I have seen one of my best friends absolutely paralyze her child with regard to her self-esteem. She trusts her to do nothing on her own and it's taking it's toll. They can't learn if they are never in a situation that allows them to use their skills. Obviously I am not saying to put them in harm's way but we only learn by doing.
He is more concerned of her being absolutely by herself. They are cool to be alone together but he doesn't want them to separate. There are rides that they both don't like. Or should I say rides that Kacy doesn't like. When I was a teenager I would go off by myself, granted that was years ago and things were supposedly safer in those days. I think that he needs to mellow out. I think what bugged me this morning was the fact that he was giving the same freedom to our teenage son who is a month from turning 14 as he was to our older much more mature daughters.![]()

Jenny, how did I just find this? You bought DVC! I am so jealous. Maybe when DH finishes school, we could afford it. Of course, if he goes on to get his doctorate, that could be never. I need some unknown rich relatives to leave me some money.
Few thoughts after reading all this:
There is a great little cheap jewelry/shoe/purse/hat store (think Claire's but much cheaper) on the 2nd floor at Gardenwalk that I bet Chloe and her friend would love.
There is also a great restaurant at Gardenwalk that they don't have in Utah - Fire & Ice. They have fantastic drinks, so even if you don't eat there, you should sneak out there for a drink. They make their own tequila with blueberries and lemons!
Driving alone sucks. Hopefully your DH won't have to be in NY.
As for WoC, I am glad you are trying it out for the rest of us - now I will have the best tips for when we go in August.![]()
Gotcha- the old double standard. I don't know that we were any safer but we certainly didn't have the media blitz we do now. I have never heard of any sort of abduction in Disneyland/DCA. She might like the 30 minutes to chill.
I am not taking midday breaks on grad nights!![]()
I think the double standard is a big part of it. And I agree about the media. I tell my mom that all the time. I told her that the freedom of the press is the only reason we hear so much now. They can't hide it anymore. I think Disneyland/DCA is relatively safe, as long as wise decisions are made we are okay.
I think Disneyland/DCA is actually very safe. With only one entrance and exit and your child having the ability to communicate, I would say the danger level is nil. Disneyland doesn't even have booze so she can leave her fake ID at home.

Spoiled girl!![]()
Awesome. Last time I bought it I could only put it on the PC laptop and not our beloved MAC.
Lol, yeah. No fake ID, I am sure of that. Now, when I was her age that may have or have not been another story. Cough, cough.
I forgot to add on my other post I refuse to leave the park on the days of grad nights.
Spoilt and proud of it!! Although I have learned that it is truly wonderful to travel with a group of strong and empowered women!![]()
All we are on MAC's so I have been waiting for a while for something to allow me to try RideMax.
"The recently green-lighted plan to cope with the problem has the 27 minute long World of Color now performing three times per night, seven nights per week, through at least the end of summer. The times that TDA is now working with have the first World of Color show at 9:00 p.m., with additional shows every 75 minutes at 10:15 p.m. and again at 11:30 p.m."
