We are in the process of planning our vacation for next summer. My boys (12 and 8) want to do Disneyland, Legoland, Knotts and the beach. The only time I can take off work in the summer is in June. However, I have heard there is a June gloom and the weather is not the best at that time. What do you guys think? Is it going to be that bad? Is it rainy at that time or just overcast? What about the beach? Should we skip it?

Go & hope for the best! You can probably go to the beach after Legoland on your way back. Some of the best beaches are near the pier in San Clemente or Dana Point. You could also go to Laguna Beach. :cool2:

Well, there is June (not rain) gloom but I don't think that it would affect your trips to the theme parks. It might even be nicer since the mornings may be cooler. The overcast usually burns off by the afternoon, especially inland like Anaheim. You can go to the beach both from Anaheim or San Diego, so just watch for a nice day during your stay. You family should have a great time.

June is overcast (usually until about noon), but not rainy at all. It actually makes for very pleasant park touring, and it sure beats the heat of July, August, and Sept. Although the beaches may still be chilly, I would still go and hope for the best. Overall, the weather should not be a concern for anyone traveling to SoCal in June. :thumbsup2

Yep, June gloom is good for DLR.

If you are at the beach most would prefer sun. So your beach day may be a bit gloomy. But for DLR it does make it feel cooler.
