Hi all,

I am new here and have a few questions about Disneyland. It has been almost 12 years since I've been to Disneyland so I don't really know what to expect. My DH and I are taking our kids(DS 6, and DD 2 1/2). We will be there on Jan. 12-14th this month. Is Disneyland crowded this time of year? How's the weather this time of year? Also, I have heard about FAST passes-what are they and how do we get them? And, my SIL said they have some sort of rider switch pass we can get at the rides for me and DH to switch off with the kids for the big rides they can't go on-is this true also? Thanks so much for any help and if you have any other suggestions on how to make our trip successful please feel free to let me know. TIA

Our family goes to DL this time of year most often. The crowds are minimal except for Saturdays and Sundays and normally hotels rates are at their most affordable. There will always be closures of some attractions but that is the trade-off. The weather isn't that warm but is much better then where we are from (Washington State) so we dont mind. You may want to invest in some rain ponchos before you leave because they are rather expensive in the park. We like being in the park when it rains because it drives the crowds away. Good luck.

That time of year should be perfect for you. The crowds are usually very light at that time of year and especially since you will be there Monday - Wednesday.

The park hours are 10-8 which is pretty good.

The weather is usually good, but lately it has been pretty cold out here these days so I would suggest bringing some warm clothes just in case.

Here is a link to Fasspass information on the Disneyland Site.

The other thing you asked about is called "Child Swap", it allows everyone that wants to enjoy a ride be able to. If you have a child that does not want to go on you can ask a Cast Member for a Child Swap Pass. The first person can get in line and go on the ride, while the second person waits with the child. When they exit the second person then takes the pass and can go on the ride with no wait or a reduced wait time, while the first person waits with the child.

Hope this helps

Thank you. I am mostly just hoping for something warmer than the 20 degrees it is here in Salt Lake City today. Brrrrrr!

I will also have to remind my DH to pack some ponchos just in case.

We're leaving tommorow on a trip that will bring us to the parks on 21st and 22nd Jan. Hoping the crowds are light and the weather not too cold. It's currently 32c (89f) here in Sydney. ;)

I think you will both be pleased with the weather and the crowds.

Right now they are forecasting the temps during the day to be in the high 60's low 70's and the evenings in the high 40's, with no rain in the forecast.

The crowds during the week in January have always been very manageable.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip
