My apologies if this is in the wrong thread, l am looking to book a 2 bed standard room on Monday for September 2014, it will be the first time we have stayed in this hotel, can anyone tell me if you can request a certain room or area, and if anyone can recommend one to us, l have heard that you can easily just get a view over roof tiles on the rest of the building, just something nice to look at would be good, we don't fancy paying all this money to look at another roof just out side your window, thank you for any help.

We had a ground floor room facing the park in the west wing (I think) (towards the swimming pool) got a view of the park gates looking onto salon mickey with a lovely terrace with table and chairs. Was nice to be able to open the doors and hear everything and sit outside when we wanted.

We stayed in the same area of the hotel as Cazspence, really liked that location, it was close to the swimming pool & children's playroom, it literally took less than a minute to walk to the park entrance, in fact it took us longer to walk to breakfast in the hotel. :rotfl:

I agree with the other comments, we have had a ground floor west wing room twice, the outdoor patio is great to have if the weather is pleasant.

You certainly can and the hotel will try to fullfill your request. Of course if the hotel is fully booked and you request this at check when arriving in the late afternoon then your chances are not so good. My advice: call the hotel within 5 days before your arrival (they won't have your reservation info before that) and request a nice room.

…and if anyone can recommend one to us...

I recommend a room in the East Wing as it is close to the reception and the Entrance to the park. The West Wing is much closer to the Swimming Pool, Spa, Gym and the Kids Club though.

You could ask for a room facing Fantasia Gardens and might end up with a nice view over Disney Village or the Studios.

If you ask nicely the CM at the reception will do his best to fullfill your wish. If you mention that you are afraid you get a room with a view on a roof (there are only very few rooms with that kind of view at the DLH) then I'm 100% certain you won't end up with one!

We had a room in the East Wing when we went in March and it was overlooking the park entrance. Whilst the view itself wasn't amazing, we could open our windows in the evening and listen to all the noise of people coming and going, one night we even listed to dreams from our room. It was really nice.

Indeed, in some rooms you can even hear the Main Street music, a lovely way to be woken with Main Street music coming through the open window in the morning!

I requested a view of Fantasia gardens and got a room over looking the Studios. Which was very nice.

Castle Club on the other hand, I got a view of a brick wall LOL.

Î would never accept that, especially not at the Castle Club (and the price tag that goes along with it). In my experience the CMs at the Castle Club bend over backwards for their guests, so if you had requested a different room they would have certainly met that request.

To be honest, it was part of a special trip which is why we was in Castle Club and I didn't feel like I had the right to complain lol. It's not like we was in the room much anyway. Though I did think that most CC rooms had some sort of park view.
