Disneyland Hotel: Your favorite room?

If you've stayed at the DLH, can you describe your favorite room and its features? I'm asking because we plan to stay there in late Sept. (DH, 2 young sons and I), and I'm in the process of re-booking a trip we had to cancel.

At first we thought we'd prefer a room that might have a view of the park. With two young sons who may not be able to stay up late to watch the fireworks from the hub, this seemed like a good choice. But DH reasoned that a good night's rest was paramount (amen!) so we instead requested a room with a waterfall view - pretty scenery, and quiet. But a bit of a further walk to that tower. We'd also prefer a King room rather than 2 Queen beds. And someone said certain rooms felt more spacious than others, I think it was 'corner' rooms?

Mary Jo I think said all the rooms are pretty well soundproofed, so maybe not such a big deal to be in the Bonita Tower? Are there other nice features I haven't thought about?

I enjoy the pool view more than the park view myself, its more immediate and up close. We have also had parking lot views and frankly, it didn't matter. We just rarely looked out the window those trips.

As for the rooms, they are very, very quiet. I have never once heard anyone else once we check in. For this reason, I really like to have a room close to the elevator.

There are different bathroom layouts. Some are much more spacious and include a separate "water closet" with a sliding pocket door. This is handy for when some little person has to go RIGHT NOW, while daddy is in the shower or mommy is blow drying her hair. There are some where there is an additional counter, that is a convenient flat space for all the STUFF you accumulate, as well as your in-room snacks and breakfast stuff.

Some of the rooms have a sofa and some just have a chair. Not enough of an expert to tell you how to get a sofa one.

Not much help, but maybe a little.

We have had a pool view corner room (main building) and really liked it. We were told at check in that the corner rooms were a bit bigger. Our last stay at DLH we had a standard view, uppper room, main building and we could see the fire works at MK from the balcony. It was great. It did look over the parking/check in area but we did not mind. You might want to ask for a king room with a day bed. It would add an extra sleeping place for one of your kids. We always request a room with a day bed so our kids have their own bed to sleep in.

Just returned yesterday and we had a corner room in the Bonita Tower which looked out on trees and greenery. Loved the actual sit on balcony in addition to the only lookout doors. Seemed very spacious with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Fridge was great! Very quiet room! Loved every minute!!

Thank you all! I didn't think the balconies were big enough for sitting out, that's nice to know. And I think I'll try to get a corner room. I'm never sure how much time we'll wind up spending in the room (with DS2), so a little extra space would be appreciated.

I have a one bedroom suite resort view booked through AAA. I was thinking of changing it to concierge ..Has anyone stayed in a suite and if so, is it better than conceirge?

I haven't been yet (so take this opinion with a grain of salt.)

I would think it would depend on how many people/what ages will be staying in the room, and what level of service you're looking for. We have 2 little boys, and with the youngest only 2yo, we may spend quite a bit of time in the room (depending on his mood/energy level of the moment.) So I'd prefer a suite to give the boys a place to sleep while the grownups could keep the lights/TV on for awhile. The concierge level sounds like mainly access to a lounge with drinks and snacks for a portion of the day, which didn't impress me a whole lot for the extra cost. (However, when my boys are teenagers, the extra food and drink might be a bargain, LOL!)

We stayed in a suite at the DLH...loved it!!!! It was on the end of the building and we had an awesome view of the fireworks (went back to the room each night to watch them). I would recommend the suite...the rooms are big and roomy!!!

Thanks. I won't change. It is only for me and my daughter (17), but we always stay at the Best Western (Park Place Inn/Suites) across street from walkway and I wanted to splurge just once. We always walked over to DLH in the evening to see the koi fish and waterfalls. So, now we won't have to walk, we'll be right there! Not going until November, but can't wait. (going back in December with other daughter (20) but staying at Best Western)

We stayed at a 1 bedroom suite at the Disneyland hotel. It has a mini bar, 2 closets, a pull out couch bed, dresser with the 1955 DL park map on it, 2 DVD players(1 for each TV), 2 queens in a different room that were very comfy, 1 bathroom, 1 vanity area.
We loved it, we were in the tower right above the waterfalls on the 12th floor, You can't even hear the waterfalls up that high. The best part is being on the 12th floor, you don't have to worry about the elevator being to full since your the first ones on.
If you change from a standard room to a Concierge room you can stay at the tower facing the park which has an even better view, and you get the free food whenever you are hungry at the lounge. You can also add Concierge to your suite but I'm not sure if they have Suites in the Concierge building so you may not be able to stay in that building.

We were in a standard/city view room in the Marina Tower and it was great. We discovered that even though we looked onto the entrance to the hotel we had a perfect fireworks view. We did have a WC in the bathroom and a nice vanity area opposite the closet in addition to the sink counter in the bathroom. The room was large and we had the daybed.

Next trip we've requested theme park view concierge so I *think* we'll be in Sierra. I hope we get the WC again. That was a huge perk with 5 in a room!
