Thank you all very much for your nice comments on the first part of my report. If you have missed the first part it can be found here:

Still on our first day, after Stitch and TOT we saw Tarzan. (Still one of the best shows Disneyland ever had) After the show it was almost 15:00 and I thought our room should be ready. But that was not the case. After waiting 20 minutes at the reception the CM always had to go backstage and ask if our room would now be ready. But it still wasn’t.
Then she said:
“You have requested a special room?”
(Yes we did, I sent them a fax asking for a room in the upper floors with view to Fantasia Gardens and maybe a balcony door)
“And we have a very nice room for you, but as we had 400 check outs today the room is not ready yet. Could you please come back later?”

As we came back at 16:15 we needed to wait 10 more minutes and then our room was ready. It was a nice room but not like I have requested it. But we were very happy with the view although it was not Fantasia Garden and although we had no balcony door.

We had this view during the day:

And this view during the night:

Not bad eh?

After a short break at the room it was time for the Parade. I love this Parade. And my favorite spot to see it is Fantasyland. On the second day we stood at the Main Street Station to see the parade. From there you have a great spot to take pictures but the overall experience of the parade is not very good as you hear all the different music parts mixed.

As usual on our first day we had dinner at Walt’s which my favorite restaurant at the resort is. This time we had a table in the Fantasyland room and we loved it. The atmosphere is great. But as this room is not near Mainstreet we had not a great view although we had a table near the window. We both ate Walt’s Gourmet Burger which is still great but a little bit smaller than the last times.

At 21:00 it was time for Candleabration and although this show is much better if it is dark outside it was great fun.

The next morning started with the great breakfast at the DLH. We had breakfast two times at the California Grill and one day at Inventions.

And this can be your view from the California Grill in the morning.

After breakfast we decided to start the day at the Studios because even during not so busy days the waiting times for Crush can go up to 2h. And so we wanted to do this one first. While we waited in line a strong rain started. The whole 4 days we had not the best weather.
It was too cold for the beginning of June and we also had some rain. In the evenings it was so dark with all the dark clouds that you could even see the candles at the Castle and the Tinkerbell effect.

But despite the Weather we had a great time.

Another highlight of this trip was the Birthday dinner of my BF on Tuesday. (The same BF who would leave me immediately if some characters should appear and sing for him)
We had dinner at the Bavern Creek and suddenly the music became louder and Pluto was running into the restaurant. My BF only said: “You don’t have!?!” And while he said that Pluto was on his way to our table. He was running and not stopping anywhere only at our table. Then he showed me his hand, and while I was giving him my hand to shake his one he pulled his hand away and laughed. Then we shook hands and then he also shook my BF hand. And that was it. He said Hello to some other quests and only seconds later he left the restaurant again. My BF was so relieved he could not stop laughing and I neither.
What a funny coincidence.
After this I said to him: “I could have done this on purpose and they could always have also sung Happy Birthday to you. You own me something for not doing this!”
And so I got two drinks at the bar of the Disneyland Hotel later. This was a nice way to end his Birthday.

The other days we had dinner at Cape Cod (great buffet and not too expensive) and the last day we ate as usual at the Blue Lagoon. (great food and the highlight was once again the Crème Brulée)

We also spent a lot of time at the DLH because some of you might know that for me the hotels are like an attraction.

They have lovely new details outside the Disneyland Hotel

OK, they need some more time to grow, but aren’t they sweet?

As I speak of details; They have new soap at the DLH. Does someone know if they also have this new soap at other hotels or only at the Disneyland Hotel?

On Tuesday we also used the pool of the DLH. And during the day we also had the whole pool and the Jacuzzi just for our self.

All in all we had a very nice Birthday trip although the weather could have been a bit better and warmer. But therefore the park was not too crowded. And the queues were manageable. But this could also have been because there are now 5 new attractions and the amount of visitors does maybe spread better over the resort?

A great trip report. I'm so jelous of you being able to afford the Disney Hotel, at the moment this is only a dream of mine to stay there that I hope one day to make a reality!

:thumbsup2

Markus - Couldn't help but see that you are from Nuremburg. Have you ever been to Fantasialand? It's in Bruhl by Koln.

Lovely trip!! I can't wait to stay at DLH!! :)

Loved your seat at breakfast!! So lucky!! :)

It was expensive but with the 10% discount for the Shareholders it was OK. And we don't have children and we don't have another big holiday this year comming up.

But for guests from the UK or France it must be much much easier to afford the DLH.

Just have a look here:

And no, I have never been to Fantasialand. I am not such a huge fan of parks. I just love DLRP and the "Europapark" in Germany is also very nice. Although they got many ideas from WDW in the 60is.

WOW! Didn't realise that there was such a big difference based on which country you live in!

I've been to Fantasialand many times now, it's a cool park and kinda like a cheap version of Disney as it has themed lands and a Main Street (well Alt Belin actually but the same concept) Europapark is very nice, been there a few times as well.
Not a great theme park fan but I love Germany, we go there two or three times a year!!

Loved your trip report Marcus!!! Lovely photos - I would love to stay in DLH but at the moment we're happy with SL. One day, maybe as a special thing, birthday, anniversary etc.

How awful about the price difference!!! It's amazing because I also used to think UK was one of the worst countries in terms of deals etc, money making etc. But guess there're worse... Shame...

Wow wow wow!! Sorry, I love the night-time view you guys had from your room!! Oh I would love to stay in the DLH!!! One day, maybe....

Love the Mickey and Minnie in the gardens too!!

And once more I was in stitches reading about your BFs reaction to characters!! :goodvibes  :goodvibes

Sounds fab Marcus!!! Pleased you had fun!

I just love the Mickey and Minnie gardens, they are so adorable :) I have told my hubby we have to stay in the DLH one day because you are so right, it's an experience in itself.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time inspite of the weather :)

A lovely view from your room. Great photos:thumbsup2

You had a lovely view from your room especially at night.

Aren't the topiary characters fabulous!! Are they easily seen by everyone or only by DLH guests?

I was reassured by your meal at Blue Lagoon. There seem to be so many poor reviews these days and my DD is so looking forward to eating there next month (she was ill last time we ate there so had to give it a miss) that i was relieved to read you enjoyed it. :)

The topiary characters can not be seen easily because they are inside the DLH. YOu have to go trhough the lobby and on your way to the car park you will see them next to this fountain.

Regarding Blue Lagoon: We once again had a very nice experience. The food was great. But it is not kind of every day food. So if you have a picky eater it can become difficult. ;)

Gorgeous photos!! They look lovely and the view from your hotel room is amazing, especially at night. Sounds like a fantastic holiday and I loved the part with the characters- what timing LOL.

I'm loving your pictures and report., can't wait for the next part. I am so looking forward to our trip to the Disneyland hotel in October for Halloween with my parents. Looking at these photos confirms I made the right choice to splurge on the Disneyland hotel for my parents 1st ever Disney experience!!

Fab report, glad you had such a great time!

I shall make sure to find those topiary Mickey and Minnie when we are there in Nov. I don't think I've ever been out of the back door!

Soap - they've had that one our last few trips, afaik.

Can you tell me the fax number you used to contact them? I've never had much luck with trying to make special requests via email.

TIA
EK
