Disneyland Hotel questions, please! Re: Parking & tower preferences.

I'm planning a visit to the Disneyland Hotel in September (my first time staying on the property!) and I have a few questions. I apologize in advance for how anal I am. LOL I read through the two big Super Threads, as well as most of the reviews on Trip Advisor, but I still have a few questions. It's so hard to even Google "Disneyland Hotel" because every hotel in the Disneyland area comes up! LOL

Honestly my biggest concern is parking. I don't mind how far I have to walk, I just want my car to be safe and I don't want to wind up with door dings. Has anyone had any issues with parking their vehicle at the hotel? I'd stay at the Grand Californian, but there's no way I'm going to valet, and the self parking situation I'm seeing on Google Maps looks a little questionable.

Basically I'm going with the DL Hotel because I like the huge parking lot & the structure. Is the adjacent structure available to hotel guests, or is that just for whatever conventions take place there? (And is it even technically a parking "structure," or is the convention center underneath with just a bit of parking on top?) What about that little lot south of the Frontier Tower? Is that lot accessible to DL hotel guests, and is it always full? I see that it's behind some kind of a guard gate where the GC and PP guests enter to park, but do they let anyone with a hotel key in there? Is it kind of a secret area that no one finds out about until they get to their room, and by that time no one really wants to take the time to go all the way back to move their car?

I'm only planning on parking once (though I'll probably check on the car every day) and doing everything else on the property, so if I can get lucky and find a nice end spot I'd be happy. Or would it be a better idea to request the Fantasy Tower so I could park on the top level of the structure and maybe see the car from the room? From what I see on Google Maps, there looks to be a ton of good spots there, where I could be on an end and just hope the person on the other side of me actually parks between their lines instead of two inches from my door.

So second concern is the room itself, mainly the bathroom. I don't care at all about the view I get, so I'll be booking the cheapest option. But I would like the largest room & bathroom possible, that's more of a priority for me. I've been scouring Trip Advisor reviews and I can't really get a good read on the bathrooms. Basically I think I can tell that the Adventure tower has double vanities, and the Fantasy tower has really small bathrooms. Any opinions on the Frontier tower? And where are the rooms with the separate vanities?

I know requests aren't guaranteed at ALL, but I might as well request one when I book. I actually need to have my brother call, so I want to make sure I email him every specific thing he'll need to know.

Thank you so much!

PPH parking is in the structure right next to PPH (behind it). I've thought that parking for the Grand was over right in that area.

I believe that the lot south of Frontier is employee and for the DVC/wedding building right there.

And this is just what I thought; we didn't have a car when we stayed at DLH...I thought the parking for DLH was in the big open paved lots north of the hotel.

But I'm sure someone else will tell us exactly what that building is. Remember, the googlemap satellite image is old...it's still showing lots of construction, and that's all done, as is the pool. So maybe those parking spaces on the building aren't there anymore... Hopefully someone else who had a car at DLH will chime in soon!

But I gotta say...maybe you could rent a car instead of take your own? That's an awful lot of worry for a car...a relative of mine just bought a Maserati, and I don't think they worry about that car to the extent of worry I hear in your post.

Our first visit to the DLH years and years ago, we stayed in the now named "Frontier Tower". After the first day, we had to go out and use the vehicle, when we returned, we got a spot in that small lot. This was MUCH more convenient when we left, instead of having to drag our bags clear across the property. :) I don't know if the lot is still for hotel use, but it was then.

We've stayed in rooms in the "Frontier" tower and the "Dreams" tower, I don't think I ever noticed a difference in the bathroom. We have always had a pool view room though, not sure if that is a factor or not.

I am surprised you are picking your hotel based on parking options. I mean, there are plenty of good hotels with free, ample parking in Harbor. True, there are a few that don't have good parking (Desert Inn comes to mind), but I can't say we have ever picked a room based on parking options except to consider whether or not there is a fee to park.

Thanks for trying to help.

I'm sorry if I sound crazy, but I work hard to have nice things so I like to keep them nice. I warned you that I was anal in the second sentence of my post! LOL
