Ugh, I can't decided where to stay. I've stayed at both but I'm really having a hard time decided which one to stay at in May. The Pier is slightly cheaper but I really do like both of them. Where would you guys choose??:headache:

We loved the Disneyland Hotel for historic reasons....... the original!! The grounds are beautiful & we felt all the Disney touches there.

We ate twice over at the Paradise Pier & just didn't feel the same walking in there as we do the DLH.

That's our preference.........

The DL hotel has better pools and amenities than the PP hotel.

We've stayed at both. With the DL hotel we have free coffee in the lobby, a snack shop and nicely themed pools. The PP hotel doesn't offer these.

We've stayed at PPH twice and enjoy it. We get to the parks by going through the GCH, after making the big mistake of following the signs inside of PPH to get to the parks on our first trip. Following the signs takes ages, makes you walk all the way past the DLH and all the way through DTD. Going across the main street and through GCH is much shorter and prettier.

We're staying at DLH in May b/c I got intrigued while waiting in their lobby for the disneyland express on a one-day trip last year. The grounds are big and you either have to start and end your day in Tomorrowland to have the monorail be a time-saver, or honestly I think you walk a further distance than getting to PPH through the GCH. I haven't pedometer'd that, though (really should, if DS will stop stealing my pedometers!), it's just the feel of the walks.

Perhaps you could do a split stay? Start at PPH b/c that's the unknown one?

I have stayed at both and both are fine, though if money were no object, my preference would be DLH, the grounds are prettier and it just has a more magical feel to it overall.

Agree with above poster, both are fine, but our preference is also for DLH. The pool is considerably nicer and there is just more going on.
