<font color=navy>I think you'd be in for a treat at either Disneyland or DCA.
At both parks you'll be surrounded by the music and fun that is so unique to Disney. If you're set on having a "typical" Disney experience, you might want to stay at Disneyland. You'd be able to see the revamped Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln on Main Street. You'd also be able to visit the original Tiki Room, and the Jungle Cruise, as well as the exciting Indiana Jones, and the new Tarzan's Treehouse in Adventureland. Even though Pirates may be shut down, you could still enjoy the ambience of New Orleans Square. There is always entertainment there, and maybe you could have lunch/dinner at one of the restaurants there. Frontierland offers a fun show - Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at the Golden Horseshoe Saloon, and, of course, Thundermountain Railroad.... well, the list goes on.
As for shows, etc., I would recommend the Parade of the Stars, and for the evening, definitely Believe! fireworks show - one of the best I've ever seen.
If you'd like something different, you might try California Adventure. I'd highly recommend visiting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the show Blast (great), and the Animation studio there. They have a great attraction called Soaring Over California. It is a lot of fun. There are also rides at Paradise Pier, and a real fun ride - Grizzly River Run (but bring a poncho). A couple of attractions are there that you're probably familiar with - Muppet Movie 3D and It's Tough to Be a Bug.
I think you'd have a lot of fun at either park. And don't forget Downtown Disney, with its shops and dining.
