Anyone have an idea of what the best Grand Californian Park view rooms are? Looking at going in December and want to have a good view (I know you are limited by availability at check-in). Also, any tips on best exits/entrances. Obviously the DCA private entrance is the best, but how about getting to Disneyland (in and out of the hotel). Any info would be great! Thanks!

I'm not to sure about views from any specific rooms. We live in Northern CA and have visited Disneyland many times but are going this Dec for the first time as DVC owners. The GC is huge and the hallways are like a maze, the place could use atleast 10 more elevators. In my opinion it's the biggest draw back to the hotel. Depending on where you are in the hotel you can walk a longgggggg ways to get to an elevator. We've had views of the CA park, and Downtown Disney (can get loud at night if you have little ones sleeping), but our personal favorite for the kid's was a park view that was more like a view of the monorail track. It ran right behind our room and they loved it everytime it went by.

We have had several different views at GC. Our favorite is the Downtown Disney view. Yes, it can be a little noisy at night with the music, but we found if we had our sliding door closed we couldnt hear it at all. The higher up you are, the less you hear it. We have been on both the 4th and 5th floors with this view and loved them both. The best part of the Downtown Disney views is that you can see the fireworks from your balcony!! We have also had a park view which overlooked the Redwood Forest area but we didnt care for that at all. The last time we went, we booked a Downtown Disney view, and we were upgrade to a park view...which totally bummed out out...until we got in the room! It felt like we were right in the park. Soarin' was on our left and Grizzly Rapids were straight ahead, and the monorail went right past our balcony. We could see Tower of Terror and several other things as well....very pretty at night. The walk to this room, and to Downtown Disney rooms IS verrrrry long! Seems like it takes forever, especially at night when you just want to get back to your room. But for us, it's worth the walk to have the view. Hope this helps :)

Here is the view from our 'theme park view' #3356 in June. At first I was a bit disappointed until we figured out the location was superb! Pretty much right on top of the counter service rest. and close to the pool entrance!

This May I had what I thought was a very nice view - quiet but could see several things. It was right above the private entrance to DCA and I could see Soarin' and watch the monorail run past as well as having a great view of Grizzly rock. Here's a couple of pics......

It also was quite convenient to the DCA entrance and very close to the restaurants. The walk to the Downtown Disney exit was not too bad and from there I'd say it's an equal choice to walk back to the monorail and ride to tomorrowland or to walk to the main DL entrance.
